Perhaps he's a heck of a lot smarter than Tiger, who married for endorsement's sake.

He's more man than the average man.

I know quite a few people who'd pay big bucks for that gear, and they wouldn't care a whit if it was 'hot'. Collectors frequently have goods with less than clear provenance in their collections.

That said, I'm glad it's been found/returned.

Yeah its not as if the "hot" collectibles market suddenly decided it had to advertise on eBay.

What about the puck?

The golden puck has been found - no worries there - but its permanent home is still in question.

Yesterday the Vancouver organizing committee for the 2010 Winter Olympics (VANOC) would not commit to sending the gold-medal winning puck to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. A VANOC spokeswoman said some details remain before the committee, which claims ownership of the disc, surrenders it to hockey's shrine.

"While we think the HHOF is a great proposal, as the current owners of the puck, we will confirm with the [International Ice Hockey Federation] terms under which any organization that may be the permanent home of the prized puck will ensure it is regularly made available to Canadians across the country," VANOC's vice-president of communications, Renee Smith-Valade, wrote in an e-mail.
