    Armchair GM Thread 2025/26

It's not just McJesus next summer. There's other big deal potential UFAs - Eichel, Kaprizov, Connor, Panarin, to start. If any of them hit the market, the Leafs need to be in a position to pounce.

2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

To be fair, there wasn't a whole lot in the UFA market even before it opened - and one of the best available decided to re-commit long-term to the team he already played for. The whole forward market was basically Ehlers, Granlund, and scraps. Ehlers is still out there, but, none of the rest...

    Armchair GM Thread 2025/26

Seriously. Granlund got 3 years at $7M, and he's definitely not as good as Kadri.

    Armchair GM Thread 2025/26

It’s almost like the Marlies need players too. And I’m quite happy the leafs didn’t sign any of the ridiculous deals that got finalized yesterday. Crazy amounts for guys that don’t really move the needle.

First UFA deal of the day I would have liked for the Leafs.

Scratch that. He decided to go to Anaheim for $7M per.

I’d like to see Granlund on a reasonable deal. Otherwise, not a whole lot of interest left.

2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

Can’t say I wish the Leafs would have signed any of deals announced so far

    2025-26 General Trades & Signings

Also nuts. Just insane. Anyone still want to argue Jarnkrok wouldn’t get at least $2M when Jeannot is getting this?

2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

Really going to depend on how much ice time he gets. If he’s a 13th/14th forward type, this is fine. If he’s getting regular ice time…not great.

    2025-26 General Trades & Signings

It helps that there’s no longer much out there worth committing big money to.

    2025-26 General Trades & Signings

    Absurd. Just nuts.

Marner to Vegas is finally happening

I don’t think any of that is known yet. Nothing has been officially announced.

2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

Yeah, I believe so. With the Marner trade still not official, the leafs are about $3m over the cap with Knies locked in. They can go $9.5M over the cap and there would definitely be salary going out in a deal of that magnitude. A Hertl deal, at this point, would just get wrapped into the Marner...

2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

Can go over the cap by 10% in the offseason. There’s plenty space for all of it right now.

    2025-26 General Trades & Signings

Not enough to sign them long term.

    2025-26 General Trades & Signings

After Ehlers and Boeser, there’s not much left. Either going to make some trades or Leafs are gonna have some good cap space for the deadline.

2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

Yeah. I found that odd, too. Clearly, they don’t want to go to arbitration with him. Dreger says they’re still talking, so, maybe he’ll be back. Not a huge loss if he’s gone, but still.
