Dakota Joshua being traded to Toronto

I'd still probably want someone like McMann or Joshua or maybe even Maccelli at LW1 but I agree that Knies doesn't necessarily need to be locked onto the Matthews line 24/7 and that Nylander should play on the top line more than line-up projections typically have him there. Really though there...

2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

I'm not itching to see Robertson go but I just don't see where he fits. He's not playing on the top line. He doesn't make a ton of sense on the Tavares-Nylander line given that they'll prioritize either a playmaker (Maccelli/Domi) or a forechecker (McMann/Joshua) as the 3rd player over another...

2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

I wouldn't be shocked if he can in a little closer to $2mil, especially with the rising cap. He'll be a really interesting arbitration case. Over the past 2 seasons he has 26 5-on-5 goals. Players tied with him there include Robert Thomas, Tim Stutzle, Quinton Byfield, Juraj Slafkovsky, Pavel...

I don't really disagree but I'm also not looking to restart that debate hah. Just a funny what-if situation. How different would the league look right now if Treliving signed Tkachuk to an 8-year deal after his ELC (like Matthew was allegedly open to) instead of the 3-year bridge. Does that open...

It's crazy that this is all Treliving's fault.

    Armchair GM Thread 2025/26

I still like Luke Kunin, who typically has had the opposite problem of being overutilized, for the 4RW spot but by the sounds of it Fasching wouldn't be bad too. In a perfect world you could acquire a 3RW guy by packaging McMann and Robertson for a righty, but scanning through a lot of teams...

Dakota Joshua being traded to Toronto

This would have been something if the Theodore trade went down.

Dakota Joshua being traded to Toronto

For whatever reason I was convinced he was a righty and only just noticed a bit ago that he wasn't. We'll see how that all shakes out with the lines.

Dakota Joshua being traded to Toronto

So we're probably looking at something like: Knies-Matthews-Domi Maccelli-Tavares-Nylander McMann-Roy-Joshua Pezzetta-Laughton-Lorentz Italicized guys being able to move around the line-up. Places for Kampf and Jarnkrok still TBD.

Dakota Joshua being traded to Toronto

Nice. I said last week or so that I thought he'd be a good pick-up. Was obviously hoping to send a little bit of salary Vancouver's way as well but a 2028 4th isn't anything to sweat. I don't know if Joshua will ever get back to his 23/24 offensive numbers but something between that and last...

Well Marner, Marchand, Boeser, Ehlers. So currently on Plan E I guess. We'll see what happens with Roslovic.

I haven't really seen all that much about the first part. If we're taking a strong stance about the second part then the league's about to get a whole lot smaller probably.

I don't see it happening, but I wouldn't hate this at a low cap hit like that. Pretty risk free considering if he struggles he'd likely terminate his deal rather than go to the Marlies. He wouldn't be eligible for incentives/performance bonuses in his deal though.

I think it'd be a stretch for a soon to be 32-year old Travis Boyd to get back into full time NHLer territory. Good AHL vet for Cowan to lean on though both on and off the ice, and a likely first call-up guy.

I was a little surprised to see he only played 20 games here, because I remember liking him a decent amount so just figured he played more. Happy to see him back, in a much more reduced organizational role of course.

His WHL team, the Oil Kings, just picked up a 3rd Czech import forward for this upcoming season. They might even form a pretty good 1st or 2nd line there. Feels like that's a good place to leave him for another season.

It's kind of crazy to see Winnipeg, the reigning Presidents Trophy winner, currently sitting with $18mil in cap space. Roughly $3-5mil of that will likely go to Toews' bonuses but that's still a massive amount of cap space for a team with Cup aspirations. edit: Ah, I didn't realize Vilardi is...

If the Pens do sign him I'd guess it'd be to a minor league deal only.

Pittsburgh native, Pens have their AHL and ECHL teams not too too far from the city. Certainly wouldn't be shocking.

That very possibly attributed to it but he's also likely expected to play on his weak side this season a lot too with Benoit on the left.
