19-20 Predictions Thread

Time for our (sometimes) annual predictions thread!

Let everyone know how you think the standings will shake out in each division.

If you want to share your prediction on who will win the Cup, feel free to do that as well.

If you have a sneaking suspicion on who will win the Art Ross, or who will be a surprise breakout player this season, post that too.

Some accompanying thoughts:

Tampa, Toronto, and Boston will all be in the top-5 of the league standings and it's totally normal and great that 2 of them will be guaranteed to face each other in the first round of the playoffs.

The Metro division could really go any way I think. Last season 6 points seperated the top-5 teams, and I think we'll see something like that again. The Devils and Rangers may have had the best offseasons of any team but I'm still not sure that's enough for them to get into the playoffs. If the Devils get at least league average goaltending then I think they'll beat out Philly.

In the Central I'm predicting Winnipeg to fall out of the playoffs. I was leaning that way even before the Buff news but with his status up in the air I'm definitely on that side.

The Pacific seems like the weakest division right now. I think Calgary and San Jose both take a bit of a step back and that sort of leaves Vegas as the top team there by default.

I'll give it a whirl.

Yeah, maybe it's wishful thinking but Boston seems vulnerable to me. Obviously their stars are still going to be good but age has to hit them at some point, no? And there's not much depth there.
