2 St. Louis Blues vs 7 San Jose Sharks

San Jose has no answer for the brilliance that is, one, Ken Hitchcock.

Subsequently, San Jose blows up the team in the offseason and Jumbo Joe lands in T.O.

Blues in 5.

I just don't think the Sharks have it in them to push through the defensive scheme the Blues will put up there.

St Louis in 6.

Blues in 7.

Isn't it often said that defence wins playoff games?  You bet it does, which is why this category favours St. Louis, the NHL's best defensive team with the fewest shots and goals allowed by the opposition.

But, what about their offence?  That, is the catch in this series.  St.Louis is not much, if at all, an offensive 'powerhouse', unlike their playoff rivals, the Sharks.  How does this bode for both teams?  Goaltending, defence, strategizing and wearing down the opposition goes to the Blues.  Experience and scoring go to the Sharks.

The rest?  Go figure!

Nice to see Berglund with a couple of goals tonight. Always liked his potential, but he could never put it together. Hopefully if the Blues go deep this could be a coming out party for him.

Also, good thing we had senile Cliff as our GM for a while.  Alex Steen led all St. Louis forwards with just under 28 minutes of ice-time.

And St. Louis wins 3-0 to tie their series. Halak was hurt in this one. Must be nice to have another good goalie to back you up. :)

Do not underestimate the Blues.

They might not be flashy, but they will not roll over.

I don't think anyone is underestimating the Blues.  They did almost win the Presidents trophy for a reason.  But the Sharks are also better than their record indicates and getting Havlat back is a huge boost.

Record without havlat 18-18-7.....with Havlat 25-11-3
