2012 playoff pool help (draft)

Maybe we need a new bullet point under "Just For Fun" entitled "Fantasy Hockey talk"... Or, maybe not... Anyhoo, I need some advice.

I've decided to completely avoid drafting players from Detroit or Nashville because I think the series is too close to call... I figure if St. Louis can get by San Jose (and I think they can) they'll meet either Nashville or Detroit in round two. How do folks (hypothetically speaking of course) like St. Louis' chances vs. either of those teams?

I have St. Louis winning the west.  Their GA is just too incredible.

The only team that will stop them from winning the cup is Pittsburgh.

You think they can beat VAN in the conf. final?

Well that will be their biggest competition but they can definitely beat them.  I'm not sold on Vancouver because of Daniel's injury.  If he comes back completely healthy it's a tough call though.

Just be careful how many Blues you take.  Even if they win the cup, they won't rack up points like Pittsburgh, Boston or Vancouver would.  I've heavily stacked my team with 9 Eastern Conference players and just 3 from the west...Backes, Perron and Halak.

Yeah. Not one Blue got 25 goals or 55 points this year.  :o

Sounds like a plan... I think there's 12 rounds... I may go;

1. Pit.
2. NY
3. Pit.
4. NY.
5. Stl.
6. Stl.
7. Stl.
8. Pit.
9. NY.
10. Pit.
11. NY.
12. ?

I think I can get some top scores in the 1st four rounds and then hopefully, three of Perron, Oshie, Backes, Pietrangelo and Shattenkirk (probably in that order) are available in those middle rounds. - I then go back and pick some of the lesser Pens and Rags.

Guys you should look at on the Blues are Perron, Pietrangelo, and McDonald as long as he's healthy again. Hated having to drop him when he went down earlier this year, but I'm pretty sure he's all healthy now. He's been practically ppg for when he's been healthy this and last season.

Pietrangelo is another one...just tore it up down the stretch. 15pts in the last 17 games of the season.

If you can get them in later rounds I say just grab as many blues as you can.

Also, if you can pick him up later...Pascal Dupuis.
