Some Nik the Trik patented Nev-R-Fail Predictions:

1. Despite there being lots of chatter, very few high draft picks will be dealt.

2. There will be a few trades

3. Coverage will be boring

4. Buffalo will take a defenseman with one of their picks

Some early all All-Draft Name Team candidates:

Jett Woo
Oskar Back
Nando Eggenberger
Jackson Perbix

I suspect there will be one noteworthy trade made tonight, but nothing earth-shattering - like a 2nd line winger or 2nd pairing defencemen being moved. Other than that? Nothing that isn't picks for picks.

Tomorrow will be little more interesting, but, still no major names moved.

Maybe it's just me but it sort of feels like there's not much trade chatter out there. I don't know off-hand who could get traded that you'd almost expect to get traded(which tends to be the moves at the draft). Neiderreiter maybe?

After the first handful of picks or so, I lose all hope that a blockbuster trade will be made at the draft over the weekend.  If a top 5-8 pick isn't going to be moving, I don't see why anything major would happen the next day with later picks.

I'll venture a guess and say that Lamoriello pulls off his patented move of trading/acquiring a goalie for a 1st rounder at or near the draft.  The Isles hold the 11th and 12th picks, so I wouldn't be surprised if he solidifies the positions using one of them as bait (Grubauer seems to be a name thrown out there quite a bit).

I have read there is increased talk between Montreal and LA regarding Patch, zero idea how much of the chatter is factual???  Plenty of talk on ROR but I really have no idea why basement dweller Buffalo would want to trade him and end up with Middlestadt as 2nd line center after 6 NHL games.  Maybe Eichel doesn't like the competition!!!

And apparently Ottawa have Anderson on the trade block so no idea when the Islanders make that deal??

There's not a lot about big names that seems to indicate there's trades on the way, that's for sure. The secondary types don't get talked about quite as much in the media - especially when there are bigger stories, like the Karlsson situation or Tavares maybe hitting the market, etc. There's been some talk around a couple guys in Carolina (Skinner and Lindholm, specifically), some talk about Columbus testing the waters in terms of moving Panarin (because he's looking to sign an extension right now), and some other less exciting players, so, one of them moving wouldn't be a surprise. More than that would be.

Grubauer is a player I expect to be moved - he's almost certainly going to trade this summer. Not sure who else, but, I imagine there's plenty discussions we haven't heard whispers of.

The sens HAVE to give up the 4th overall pick if this is true, right?

Unless they're in play for Grubauer, yeah.

I thought they should anyway but judging only by Sen's actions I say there is no way they give it up.

I'm on board with Jett, just so Babs can talk about Woosie.

If this gets finalized today it could open some trade floodgates.

I really hope he doesn't end up in Boston. A Marchand-Bergeron-guy / Kovalchuk-Krejci-Pastrnak top-6 is scary.

How are they going to top the 16+33 for Reinhart trade?

Also... Zaitsev?
