All or Nothing

So the show has appeared on Prime today. After much internal debate, I finally relented and watched the first episode on my lunch break and certainly it's an interesting insight. Some good behind the scenes practice stuff, lots and lots of swearing, a little spat between Keefe and Matthews.

Dubas is a Man City fan.

I enjoyed it and looking forward to episodes 2,3 and 4. Might skip episode 5 though  :D

Perfect aperitif before my first live game of hockey since January 2020 this evening!

I haven?t watched yet. One of the show personnel did say the pandemic restricted access quite significantly, so they were usually down to one camera and 3 mics where they?d normally have a more diverse base of material. So the show is, by that necessity, quite Dubas-Keefe centric

A little bit of insomnia last night.  I caved and watched two episodes.  Keefe comes across well in the episode.  It was kind of interesting to see some of the dressing room stuff although it was pretty limited but I enjoyed seeing a more animated Keefe.

There's a scene in one episode where they're talking about some of the goals Freddie was letting in. "That's just bad luck"

One protagonist fires back "you gotta stop that shot, you gotta stop this shot"

And the original is saying "off Muzz's ass? Off Dermie's pants?"

And I enjoyed the fact that the coaching staff are basically a live action version of the gameday threads ;D

That's hilarious.

People that I've coached with over the years and I have always had these sort of conversations.

I have a bias to the goalie as I played the position so I usually find a reason it wasn't their fault. The other coach, who's played their career as a defence or forward sees it the other way and always seem to have that "you've got to stop that" response to goals. It makes for interesting conversations over beers.

A bad pass at the blue line.....a ridiculous spin move turnover inside the blue line.  The last episode is bringing up bad thoughts about this team again.

Watched 2 episodes last night (it actually went live on Prime after 8:30pm last night) then the last 3 today.  I found it funny I kept thinking the end result would be different and they actually beat the Habs in OT after Keefe's speech.  ;D  How I hoped the last 4 months were a dream.

I can?t watch this. There?s no way I want to re-live anything from this past season.
It's ok you can re-live the same heartbreak this upcoming season

I?ve watched it all now.

Episode 5 was tough. But honestly it was only tough because I never wanted to see the Tavares injury and aftermath ever again, not really because of the result of the series.

I would say having watched it all that I actually think these guys will break through. I?m actually slightly more confident now than I was a while ago that it will happen this season.

I think seeing the personalities of some of the guys behind the scenes is what makes these shows. It gives a hint of why guys like Thornton at this stage of his career are worth signing IMO.

Just on episode 5... I didn't really feel a whole lot of anything until I saw Jack Campbell crying. Holy god does that hit you.

I liked Jack Campbell a lot before and after seeing this, I love him. More than maybe any other player on this team he just seems like such a kind and down to earth guy.

Big Red Lobster fan too...

Speaking of Red Lobster, I bought the mix from Costco to make their cheesy biscuits.

Delicious.

I saw that but I think I read you have to add the cheese yourself, right? So it's basically just biscuit mix.

Cuz, otherwise, yeah I want some cheddar biscuits.

I find those biscuits to be crazy salty but yet I always ask for a fresh round to take with my doggy bag for next days left overs.

Couple other take aways from the show; Nick Foligno is a good teammate, good to have around. Shame his time here was so limited. Anyone else get the impression Freddy Andersen acted like a baby in his final days? It seemed like when he lost his game and conceded #1 that he just didn't want to play.

You really really REALLY don't like Andersen, don't you?  He's gone, man.  Be happy, let it go.
