Although I think my overall level of caring about hockey (and the Leafs in particular) has slipped because of the lockout I am happy that it is almost gameday.
Months of talking about lockout, greedy owners/players, CBA, was replaced by shortened training camps, accelerated buyouts, lineup shuffling etc. etc. etc. It is finally time to move past all that nonsense and, for the first time in over nine months, drop the puck at a Leafs game and just play on.
I am wondering if maybe someone with the talent to do so would start a gameday thread sooner than the normal rule of 24 hours (and the site would allow it just this once) and attention could start to shift from everything about hockey that is off-ice to the game itself. Finally. It is time to just play hockey.
Lockout over. Camp (nearly) over. Game on!
