Andersen day to day with neck injury

Andersen not traveling to NY.
Hutchinson starts tomorrow against Rangers.

This is how the apocalypse starts.

I'm usually skeptical any time a team uses a concussion-like phrase when it looked like they may have had a concussion, so man I really hope that it's really just a minor neck thing.

Wouldn't be the first time that a perceived concussion was actually a neck injury.

As long as Hutchinson doesn't think he's coming in in relief, I think the Leafs will be okay.

Hutch on waivers yet?????

I would imagine even the best case scenario would be Campbell starts on Friday with Hutch backing up and then Andersen comes in Saturday with Campbell backing up.

Let's hope so. At this point if Freddie can't go, I hope Kaskisuo would get the net first, after Campbell.

Any word on Andersen?
Last I read, he participated in a full practice. Hopefully he's back in against Dallas.

The Campbell trade and his performance probably lets them be a little more patient with Andersen. I wouldn't even be surprised if he started again against Dallas, especially since that's the team he started his career with. That sets up Freddy to return on the back to back.

Considering the, uhh, "strength" of the opponents in that back to back, might even make sense to get Freddie in net for both.

Maybe. I'd be fine with trying to be pretty conservative with Andersen's work load for the rest of the season though.

Leafs have 25 games left. I really do think that Campbell gets the Dallas game so let's just call that 24 games left when Andersen gets the net back. That's 7 weeks of the season. 3 back-to-backs. I'd try to work it out so Campbell plays once a week, so he'll get those 3 B2B's plus an additional 4 starts elsewhere in the schedule.

That would give Andersen 59 starts this season, and he'll be heading into the playoffs the freshest he's ever been.

Freddie's injury is a blessing in disguise with Campbell able to hold down the fort. Freddy getting a little rest and Campbell showing he can handle the job playing net. This is nothing but positives.
