Game Notes
CBJ
-Elvis Merzlikins (25-20-5, 3.20 GAA, .891 Sv%) will likely start for the Blue Jackets
-A rough March may have ended a very inspired playoff push for Columbus. They've gone 4-9-1 in their last 14 games and are now 10th in the East, 4 points behind Montreal for the final wild card spot. They have a game in hand so obviously they are far from eliminated but they'll have to start picking up more wins almost immediately
-On a personal level I was surprised to see Damon Severson as a healthy scratch in Columbus' last game. Statistically things don't seem too bad for him (49.5% CF, 50.89% GF, 49.35% xGF) but he's likely still not meeting expectations in year 2 of his contract with the team. Unknown if he'll be sitting for consecutive games
TOR
-Joseph Woll (25-13-1, 2.78 GAA, .906 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
-Toronto's game on Wednesday saw Jake McCabe and David Kampf leave earlier with injuries. Both players are confirmed to be missing this game but there's not much information on them besides both being considered day to day

It's pretty clear Berube is going to start Stolarz in the playoffs. He'll probably get 5 of the last 7 games depending if they need to fight for every point.
100%.

Woll is a homegrown favorite, but maybe he needs a bit more maturation. He is the only one out of the two goalies that was pulled this season.

And one key factor for the Leafs win over the Panthers was that Stolarz slightly outplayed an excellent Bobrovsky. And that's how you win playoff games.

But it's very very comforting to know with Stolarz as the A, there is a highly respectable B in Woll. The Leafs have the top tandem in the NHL.
