Hmm...I'd trust this guy with our rebuild.

Wonder what this means for Claude Julien. Do the Bruins pull a 'Pittsburgh' and have him hanging in the wind for a few months while they find a GM and that GM decides what to do then?

This is one year after winning the President's trophy, right?

There has to be more to this than just the on-ice result.

Maybe it just took them awhile to realize that trading away 23-year old point-per-game centres for scraps isn't that great of an idea.

Gotta say he has guts to pull the trigger on some of those trades.  Starting to look like a healthy Chara was the catalist to their great teams, now he is fading so are the Bees.

Yeah. You're really not supposed to be able draft franchise-player ppg talent when you're in your window of contention. Burke's impatience was good fortune that could've kept the Bruins favorites in the east for another 5 years. They were nuts to throw that away.

Julien & Chiarelli have never gotten along with Neely and both were about be fired right before the Bruins went on their Cup run - obviously they bought themselves some time after that. I thought this was public knowledge but I guess not

Serves him right for letting chara age.

I think his bigger problem was not realizing that Chara could age.

The close to 5 million in dead cap space this year due to overages didn't help as it forced their hand into trading Boychuk.

According to the Puck Daddy article, John Ferguson Jr is among 3 who will look after the GM duties.

Shanny CALL THE BRUINS. Bergeron for Balloons!

The Leafs can get Rask back.

Face it, if Rask hadn't been traded, he'd be in the KHL by now.

You're just a ray of sunshine.

Is this team your outlet for all your pent up frustration?

Wasn't Rask refusing to sign with us prior to the trade?  I thought there was some reluctance on his part to sign?  Partially why he was traded instead of Pogge?

I still can't believe how badly our scouts evaluated the Pogge versus Rask scenario.

No reluctance to sign. He was stuck in Finland for another year after the trade but that was because of military commitments that he had there.

Now THAT would be a confusing power structure. They already have...

Bob Nicholson CEO
Kevin Lowe President
Craig MacTavish GM
Scott Howson VP

Doesn't sound like Chiarelli would be ousting one of those guys. Where would he fit in?
