BOS
?Linus Ullmark (8-0-0, 2.17 GAA, .929 Sv%) will likely start for the Bruins
?Brad Marchand missed the beginning of Boston's terrific start to the season but is signing no signs of slowdown with 3 goals and 4 points in his first 3 games

TOR
?Ilya Samsonov (5-2-0, 2.30 GAA, .920 Sv%) will start for the Maple Leafs
?Timothy Liljegren is expected to make his season debut after an offseason injury put him on LTIR

Brad Marchand won't sign signs?  Why are more people not up in arms over this?  He better not smirk in the game tomorrow night.

Can?t say I?m liking that 3rd line.  Just for variety, throw Marner down there with Robertson, if only to get him away from Bergeron.

That will be so insulting to him that he will ask for 18M on the next contract

Are you guys changing the clock on Sunday? (Day light savings)
We did it last weekend in Sweden so I missed the first period of the last game.
I'm pretty sure tonights game will be on at midnight for me but I'm not sure if tomorrows game will be on at 00:00 or 01:00.
Every year I miss the first period of one game and get up early for another.

Clocks change early Sunday morning for Eastern standard time so yes the Sunday game will be one hour ?earlier?

Ok. Well. Here we go. Tough match up. Heated rivalry. Hated team. Let?s see how this one plays out. I?m thinking if any team can get the Leafs competitive juices flowing again it?s Boston.

Go Leafs Go!

The facts are these:
Holl is trusted for defensive match ups.
Holl needs to be second banana on his pair: he can?t carry
Brodie is our best defensive defenseman

Sans Muzzin, the only real way to maximize Holl (the Leafs are a better team when he is going good), is to play him with Brodie. Everything else stems from that matchup pairing decision.

I don?t know about this one. Samsonov is going to have to win it in my opinion. Bruins have surprised me figured they would take a drop in the standings and still might. Time will tell but demonstrates what good coaching, good effort and team play will do for you. Missing McAvoy, defense looks suspect but they are playing well.

I kind of get not playing Robertson all the time but what the heck are we doing with his development.

I thought last year Holl had some of his best games with Giordano.  I may have that wrong though.  I thought the narrative was that placing a struggling dman with Giordano fixed the struggling dman.

I just wonder if it's too much to ask for both Sandin and Brodie to play on sides they aren't used to playing.

So I think ideally, and eventually, you go with:

Rielly - Brodie
Sandin - Liljegren
Gio - Holl

But until they can see where Liljegren is at, as well as Sandin, then I think we see all kinds of variations until these guys can (hopefully) settle into proper predictable performances.

Agreed on all accounts, which why I don't think the lineup formation tonight is all that bad.  I just wonder about Sandin struggling on his wrong side.  Brodie should be able to handle it, but then he is also playing with a struggling Holl, so there is that.
