Carlton's got a close eye on our #1 netminder. Watching for early signs of a possible elbow injury.

The Athletic has a pretty amazing story about Auston Matthews and the work he's done with the SickKids? Cystic Fibrosis Centre in Toronto. His uncle Bill was the person who introduced Auston to hockey and he passed away from cystic fibrosis in his early 30s. Auston knew right away that he wanted to use his NHL status to help those effected by the disease. The story will be unlocked until later tonight. Check it out when you can:

The kid in the header photo of this article was my wife's patient a couple of days ago (she's a nurse at Sick Kids). He was very thrilled to have met Auston, and now my wife actually knows who Auston Matthews is when I show her gifs of him scoring.

Also: Ron Hainsey and Patrick Marleau in this video are killing me

"Off days are few and far between during an NHL season, but Matthews' visits are long. They also often include additional stops when staff ask if Matthews can see a patient in another ward who needs a lift.

He never says no."

Been here a year and a half. That really makes their week. And they look forward to it to. Great article CtB, thanks for sharing. Nice Herman!

Of all the things that atheletes can do, this is the thing that I am jealous of the most.

I hope someone makes a huge banner that says 'Ziti, cream your sugar!' for the next home game.

haha just noticed the signature change LuncheonMeat. Keep adding names as the dynasty progresses ;D and never change Mike Bacock.

Thinking Kessel and Mo are two guys ballooning up after retirement (O-Dogg).

Laying the groundwork for that future parade.

Imagine being a kid on the subway and see Leafs in full uniform riding the train with you.  Pretty cool.
