@TSNBobMcKenzie

If Jonas Enroth wins 4 playoff games for DAL, BUF gets 2nd round pick instead of 3rd. That's the condition. But BUF guaranteed at least 3rd.

The tank is real and it's spectacular.

Hoenstly, not sure this really changes Buffalo's goaltending situation much. Neuvirth's numbers are basically identical to Enroth's. Unless they run Lindback as the starter . . .

These "conditions" are getting better and better. They're basically like NFL contracts at this point.

So Reimer is worth what, a 7th?

Reimer's better than Enroth and signed for another season. So, yeah, obviously he's worth a lot less. ::)

I thought Enroth had comparable numbers on a much worse team the last few years.

Reimer is more expensive which for a backup isn't exactly a good thing.

But yeah sure, Enroth stinks and Reimer is amazing  ::)

Reimer's got a pretty important edge on Enroth though. He's got a season as a team's #1 where he played well. That's going to go a long way when trying to convince a team that might need goaltending that he could be more than a back-up.

Damn it, I forgot about him.

And, let's be honest, Buffalo hasn't been much worse that the Leafs have. Last season, they may have, in fact, been better defensively. The two teams have been pretty equally bad without the puck. The difference has been that the Leafs have been able to score at a better rate than the Sabres.

But that edge is mitigated IMO by the fact that he is no longer the #1 while Enroth is/was.

If anything I'd say that Reimer's higher cap hit is a detriment to his value.

Nobody is going to look favourably at Enroth because he's proven a failure as a #1 goalie.

If someone were looking at him as being strictly a back-up(and a 15-20 start a year back-up) then maybe but the point is that there's a much better case for Reimer to be a credible 1A or 1B than there is Enroth. If the team in question were, say, Minnesota pre-Dubnyk then who's a more cost effective back-up is sort of immaterial to their pressing need for someone who can win them some games.

My example for that might be Nashville.

Reimer had a pretty big hand in the meltdown last year...and hasn't exactly been blowing the roof off this year.  I would say he's worth slightly less than Enroth.  If they do infact trade him I would expect something similar, a 3rd and a sh*tty player in return

Reimer's hand meltdown has been massively overstated. The team played like absolute garbage in front of him, and was no longer standing on his head the way he and Bernier did earlier in the season. It's not like he became Toskala/Raycroft bad. He just played closer to average, and the team wasn't good enough to win with that.
