I expect this stuff from Button, but CSS? Come on guys.
They also have Kylington ranked the 6th best Euro, 3rd best Euro defenceman. He's going to be a very interesting person to watch at the draft.

Crouse is a Doug Gilmour crafted prodigy.

Very, very much so.

Why? Who in particular do the Leafs need in the 5-10 range?
I'm all for more high first round picks, but I don't know who in that range would trade their first for Kessel or Phaneuf or Bozak or Lupul or Gardiner any combination of those (leaving aside whether the Leafs want to part ways with all of them).

Provorov, Werenski, Barzal, Zacha, to start.

The other six wouldn't be bad either, how about all of them?

I guess my question is: if we're all saying (when we're being generous) that Kessel and Phaneuf are good supporting pieces, but not the essential core pieces, why would any team in the top 10 go for them? Don't those teams need players that can plausibly be part of a core for the next 5-8 years or whatever? Aren't they in a similar spot in their trajectory (need to stockpile talent)? More top ten picks just doesn't seem very likely.
Maybe Florida or Philly think they're close. Others too?

There might be a way to score a mid first round pick and try to flip it up. You're right, it's not very likely on face, Gardiner in the mix could maybe do it, in other news the Leafs could still use all of them.
Highlander said:Although not in the draft, the Leafs should seriously consider getting Evan Rodrigues from Boston U. Had more points than linemate Eischel since the beginning of 15. Watched him play against Minnisota/Duluth a week or so ago and he was a real spark plug/terrier with great speed, hands, he has the scoring touch.
And he is from T.O.
