Chromecast

I'm a cord cutter, have the chromecast, roku and Apple TV.

I like it, the ability to stream from the chrome browser is nice if you want to watch media etc.

I have a chromecast. It's neat, but not for the novice user, it takes some getting used to not having a remote.

You need a tablet or phone to use it, has to be android or iOS, it won't work with blackberry.

To be honest, if it wasn't so cheap I wouldn't recommend it. I mainly use it for YouTube and music streaming. For Netflix and my personal media I use my PS3 and a older seagate media player (which is rock solid btw)

Anyway, not sure if I've helped...

Downstairs we have an old laptop that we hook up via HDMI to mirror TV streaming sites.  I was thinking Chromecast could do that dirt cheap for our bedroom tv.  We have an android tablet that stays pretty much in the bedroom.  I like the option of streaming what's in my office laptop via a Chrome tab.  Hmmm.

As long as your computer is powerful enough over wifi because the pc/laptop has to transcode, the chromecast is just mirroring the display.

Anyway, you won't get what the chromecast offers at a better price
For 29$ you can't go wrong.

Agreed.  I'll grab one.  My wife had actually floated the idea of getting a cheap laptop to basically do this in the bedroom.
