Missed this the other day but Travis Boyd has turned his career season (26 points in 48 games while averaging 16:26 a game) into a nice little contract extension: 2 years at $1.75mil per. The other 5 contracts he signed in his career had never carried a cap hit over $1mil. Obviously he doesn't really get the opportunity he did with Arizona on other teams, and he's playing higher in the line-up than he should be, but I liked his play as a Leaf. Glad he caught on somewhere.

That's 5 6 former Leafs lol vs 2 former Coyotes + 1 former Coyotes fan
Eh, I forgot Riley Nash

Lyubushkin hat trick pls and thank you

Interesting new set-up. At first glance I like the look of it. Would swap Spezza and Simmonds personally but maybe Spez has a bump or bruise he needs to take care of.

Yeah. I suspect Sandin and Spezza are still under the weather.

How is this not the time to try Kerfoot - Nylander - Simmonds?

Or even with very balanced minutes in the bottom-9
Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Engvall - Tavares - Simmonds
Robertson - Kerfoot - Nylander
Mikheyev - Kampf - Kase

Engvall and Simmonds are not good on their off-wing.

Thought for sure we'd see Karel "45 saves" Vejmelka in net.

I get not wanting to break up the Kampf-Kase pairing.

I really don't understand Simmonds moving up to the 3rd line.

He has 4 points in his last 26 games.  If anyone should be sitting at this point it's Simmonds.

I think you had to play him leading up to his 1000 GP and obviously give him the game in Toronto when he gets his stick but I think he needs a few days off to reset.

Sure, but who do you put in right now? Clifford? Until Spezza is good to go (there's no way he's a healthy 'healthy scratch'). all you have are equally questionable options. Should be glued to the 4th line, though.

11 forwards.  6 defensemen.  Triple shift Matthews.

I agree 100%. I just see so little from him
