Four days ago Craig Anderson was granted a leave of absence by the Sens for personal reasons. Two days later the reason for that leave was revealed: his wife Nicholle was diagnosed with cancer. When Ottawa's backup went down with an injury Nicholle encouraged Craig to return to the team and with that he started last nights game against the Oilers.
Anderson made 37 saves and earned a shutout in a 2-0 win, in a game that was obviously emotional for everyone involved. Here's Craig accepting his 1st star honours after the game:
