Sidney Crosby has been diagnosed with a concussion.

He didn't play any pre-season games, so that means it likely happened during the World Cup.  Which he was absolutely phenomenal in.  Crazy.

EDIT: Sullivan said it happened at practice on Friday.

PIT coach Mike Sullivan said they would prefer to keep in house what specifically in Fri's practice may have led to Crosby's concussion.

So the question came up if Crosby is done, does he go to the Hall of Fame?  I think the answer is yes.  While looking up some stats, here is something I found interesting:

In the history of the NHL, only 53 players have averaged a PPG or over in their careers.  Crosby for his career is in 5th at 1.327.  He is only behind Gretzky ( 1.921), Lemieux (1.883), Bossy ( 1.497) , and Orr (1.393).

Why I find this interesting, is that those of us that watched hockey in the 80's and 90's were very spoiled.  A lot of the players that averaged a point a game were from that era.  I mean that makes sense, as that was probably the highest scoring era in the history of hockey.  However, does hockey need high scoring stars to be interesting?  I mean I feel I look back at those times somewhat nostalgically so my point of view may be skewed, but I don't think I turned off as many games back then as I do now.  Of course that could also be that I have a lot more demands on my time as well.

Hey so Crosby's back (and scoring goals of course).
