Looks like the Leafs have taken another step towards mending the relationship with Keon.

As the Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Club prepares to celebrate its Centennial anniversary next season, it was announced today that three of the greatest players in club history will be inducted into the team?s Legends Row monument. Dave Keon, Turk Broda and Tim Horton will be honoured with statues to be unveiled in October. The three Hockey Hall of Fame members will join previous inductees Ted Kennedy, Darryl Sittler, Johnny Bower, Borje Salming, George Armstrong, Syl Apps and Mats Sundin on Legends Row.

Keon and representatives from the Horton and Broda families will be honoured in a pre-game ceremony Saturday night as the latest Legends Row inductees are introduced to fans when the Maple Leafs play the Montreal Canadiens at Air Canada Centre.

I wonder if that means he's getting a banner?

It would be strange for a player to have a statue but not a banner.

Nice. Even if Keon wanted nothing to do with it I'd have put his statue up. It's certainly nice to see he's given his consent though and will participate on Saturday.

Finally Dave Keon is honoured, he was my favorite Leaf in my young days. I think its great news. Nice for the Turk and Tim familys as well.  Wonder if Tim will be portrated with a hockey stick in one hand and a cup of Joe in the other.

Nice to see. I wonder if this satisfies the Leafs' debt to the Hockey Gods and finally allows them to be successful again.

I think we probably need to salt and burn the bones of the Ballard family going back a few generations to be safe.

Not just participating but he's going to have an intermission press conference.  I'm glad.  I have been critical of Keon for distancing himself from the organization but I would rather they have the greats around the team.

Amazing news!  ;D

Dave Keon is a great Leaf, and, a huge reason why I'm a Leafs fan!  ;)

Tim Horton was no slouch on D either.  Real tough dude.  He makes a good cup of coffee too.  8)

Turk Broda was a fine goalie.  If he was our goalie this season, still in his prime, we'd be firmly in a playoff spot today IMHO.  :)

Thought this might be interesting for all of the fans too young to have ever seen him play:

I,m glad Keon is getting in,I remember him well.Horton was a great D.  I thought Broda should have already got his due.

Finally!  Dave Keon, we've been waiting for you!

So glad Mr.Keon will be honoured.

(I wonder how his sister is?  She was my late brother's elementary school teacher in the early '60's).
