Yes, please.

I think it's an interesting question. I'm not even sure who mine is, but quite possibly Lecavalier.

It's Getzlaf for me too.  What's not to like?  A big, strong, elite # 1 center who can fight, hit, and score.  I'm excited by all the rumours of him coming to Toronto swirling around, but trying not to get my hopes up too much.

Is this like a 80's hockey pool where rule 1 was you weren't allowed to take Gretzky? If not, for me then it's (a healthy) Crosby... assuming we're talking current players.

I'm assuming ex-Leafs don't count or I'd go with Antro or Kabs.

If the question is about guys who I enjoy watching play then I'd probably go with Crosby or Datsyuk.

This year excluded, I would have said Ovechkin.  Hockey aside, I think he really puts himself out there in the public eye and risks taking criticism with his actions away from the rink.  I can't think of another hockey player other than Gretzky that made fun of himself in commercials.  It is one thing that shows up when comparing the NHL to the other 3 big NA sports.  A complete lack of personalities.  The NBA has its fair share Shaq, Kobe, LeBron.  NFL has Romo, Jarred Allen, Polaumalu(sp?), Sander (Deion).  Baseball is a little more tame like hockey but there's been a few Ricky Henderson, Sosa, Clemens.  In hockey you hardly remember any personalities that weren't going to be remembered anyways for their great skill.  The guys that stand out in my mind are Jeremy Roenick, Sean Avery, Chelios.  Heck I would even say the Kris Versteeg was the players with the most personality on the leafs in the past five years.

I'm really starting to like Claude Giroux this year. It helps he's helping me to the top of one of my pools. I also really like the style Lucic plays.

Giroux or Duchene, maybe Toews also

I'm a fan of a few big up-and-comers too, like Pietrangelo and Ekman-Larsson (and both taken right before Leaf picks)

Current:  Sydney Crosby (Penguins)
Past:      Mike Bossy      (4-time Stanley Cup champion New York
                                    Islanders)

I really like Jonathan Toews, Patrick Sharp, Bobby Ryan, Shea Weber and, to be quite honest, I've always liked Jason Spezza.

Ovechkin is up there too, because he's so electrifying to watch, but that's become the case less and less these days ...

My favourite non-Leaf of all-time is easily Steve Yzerman.

Definitely Jonathan Towes, he is a total boss on the Blackhawks and he had some pretty epic performances in his world junior class and at the Olympics I will always remember.

I said Crosby earlier and stick by it. Nik mentioned Datsyuk earlier and he'd be up there on my list "current players" list with Crosby too but a guy a little off the radar (he isn't a superstar) whu I just really, REALLY like is David Backes... He just does everything well.

I'm sure I've mentioned it before but Can Neely is right up there as one of my all-time favourite non-Leafs in the former player category... Another guy who just did everything well.

Yeah, Toews is one of them for sure. Datsyuk and St. Louis are others that I like.

When I was a kid I liked Rick Middleton and the two Denis', Savard and Potvin.
