Gagne back to PHI for a 4th round pick

If they hope he'll get back to scoring 40 goals for them, they got another thing coming.

I'm of the belief they're thinking of putting him in net.

LOL.  In all seriousness the move doesn't hurt them.  He's a veteran forward who had his best years in Philly previously.  Sure he's not what he once was, but they didn't give up anything to get him back and take a kick at the can.  Maybe he finds a second wind?  Seems like he's been around forever, i'm surprised he's only 33.

double lol.

Doubt this trade would have happened if they didn't lose McGinn last night.
They gave up a 4th rounder (3rd if they make the playoffs) so not a big deal really.

I remember long arguments here about gagne being a 'superstar'

In fairness to him it was hard not to see him on that path after he was so good in Salt Lake as a 21 year old.

Not that I'm trying to reopen that argument - but I have a very narrow definition of superstar - Gretzky, Lemieux, Yzerman - the next tier is 'star' players. At the time, I was saying that Gagne might fit in the star category...

Obviously this is my own opinion and not universally shared.

Ah, well, I may not remember the specific argument you're referring to then.
