Game 2: Sabres at Leafs - Sportsnet 7:00 PM

I am of the belief that the Leafs struggled last year every time there was some kind of opening ceremony. I really hope that tonight they just announce the lineup and drop the puck.

Buffalo will be much more of a test than the Habs.

Scrivens remains in goal and it looks like the rest of the lineup stays intact as well.

Forwards:
Joffrey Lupul - Tyler Bozak - Phil Kessel
Clarke MacArthur - Mikhail Grabovski - Nik Kulemin
James van Riemsdyk - Nazem Kadri - Leo Komarov
Colton Orr - Jay McClement - Mike Brown

Defence:
Gunnarsson - Phaneuf
Liles - Kostka
Fraser - Holzer

Goaltenders:
Scrivens

Sabres lineup:

Vanek - Hodgson - Pominville
Foligno - Ennis - Stafford
Ott - Grigorenko - Hecht
Scott - Ellis - Kaleta

Regehr - Myers
Ehrhoff - Sulzer
Leipold - Sekera

Miller

Those 48th highlanders will have something to say about just dropping the puck.

Eek, it's 48, yeah shows how much I know.

I forgot about them. I like the tradition and all but it does nothing to pump up the jam..... so to speak. I am predicting a Leafs loss and that they look flat.

Let's hope the Sabres are a little tired after their home opener yesterday.  Glad Carlisle is sticking with Scrivens for this one.  It will be interesting to see if the Leafs can emply a sound defensive scheme at home.

I hope Carlyle plans on starting Steckel tonight.

+1

Four minutes of Colton Orr?  What did that bring to the game?  At least Steckel can win a faceoff.

Tonight's one of those nights where they might actually need Orr in the lineup.

Given how much Carlyle was matching lines, I suspect being at home will only help. Now, will getting the right line out there help in them executing the defense properly, who knows? But I do think it'll help. :)

Looks like there's a possibility of Fraser and Holzer getting in tonight for Leafs. Franson and Komisarek getting extra work after skate.

Snacks... I have no idea.

I know you're against sugar, but I've really been into chocolate-covered pretzels lately.

Since the sugar detox, I can (and do) allow myself a little but I'm thinking something more savoury or spicy. - I wish I had the time and energy to do home made jalapeno  poppers.

Gardiner says he feels 100%. Leafs being cautious but he hopes to play later this week.

Good news, but I'm not adverse to giving him a conditioning stint with the Marlies before re-activating him...

Franson and Komisarek do in fact, look to be out tonight. Holzer and Fraser go in. Carlyle likely trying to manage crowded back-end.

Keep an eye on Fraser. Big but not a giant - mean & tough
