I wish Sundin to drop the ceremonial puck again and scare the hell out of Chara...  ::)

Huge game, Go Leafs Go!!!

Huge game, Go Leafs Go!!!

Yeah, quite the opposite result from last year's Sundin tribute game.  May we go on an opposite streak this year and blaze into the playoffs.

A Bruins reporter said he rode the elevator with Blacker this morning in Boston, so it would appear he has been called up.

So how far down is Holzer now?

Maybe it's more about evaluating as many different players this season as possible at the NHL level?

Updates from practice: Reimer starts. Hamilton is the odd man out among the forwards. Blacker skating as the 7th defenceman. Kostka is with Gardiner.

Bingo. Nonis and Carlyle appear to be turning over every stone they can in hopes of finding more surprises like Frasier already in the organization.

I also think they are giving Blacker a chance to collect an NHL salary for a week or 2.

Holzer probably has a list of things he needs to work on and improve before he gets another call up.  It's good to see what the guys who are close to being NHL ready have got going on. Looking forward to seeing Blacker hopefully tonight.

Fraser isn't really a surprise, nor particularly good.

I beg to differ.  He's been the Luke Schenn we never really got.  Will he keep it up is the big question -- Schenn started off well and then backslid, after all.  We'll just have to wait and see.

Im confused. Your not surprised he made the team out of the gate, but he isn't good enough??

I never said he isn't good enough, just that he's nothing special and is an average d-man.  I also didn't say I was surprised, but that Fraser was likely not a surprise for the Leafs management/coaching staff when he was brought in - this is basically what he does and what he's done since with New Jersey.

If the Luke Schenn we never got was someone to play the 7th most minutes per night out of the D (only Komisarek avg'd less in games this season), 4th most on the PK, against just about the easiest competition among the D.

I would expect a lot more out of a 5th overall Luke Schenn than what Fraser has given us.  I'm not ripping on the guy, I'm not expecting more out of him, but I'm not going to pretend he's more than what he is.
