Gagner Vs Reimer, the dual of hot hands, as both players are red hot entering tonight's youth game, featuring 2 of the youngest teams in the NHL.
The Maple Leafs are in a better situation as they hold the 8th spot in the East, while the Oilers are 11 points back in the west race.

Gagner has 12 points in his last 3 games (6G, 6A) and Reimer turned down all 74 shots he faced in the last 2 games, Reimer will try for a streak of 3 shutouts in a row, the last time was in 1981, the Leaf record is a 5 game shutout streak in 1930...

Things may be heating up in the  the Kessel - Bozak - Lupul line combined for 8 points saturday night, Lupul set a new carrer high with 54 points, as both wingers are avaraging 1.04 ppg, and tied in the team lead with 54 points in 52 games.

The key is to held Gargner of the scoreboard, as he is red hot right now, but has 33 points this season, also deny the Oilers any PP, Edmonton holds the 3rd PP% unit in the NHL, clicking at 22.1%

Go Leafs Go, play like the game vs Sens is still on ;)

Should be an entertaining game.  Hopefully the Oilers are too high on themselves with their 3 game win streak and come out flat.

I think the Oil might catch us napping to start, but thankfully they're Leafian in their defensive irresponsibility, so I can see this being a back and forth game.

5-3 Leafs, Grabbo with 2.

Gagner has 33 points this season if I'm not mistaken, not 22.

Anyway, this would be a huge win, leapfrogging Ottawa on their day off.

He had 22 only two games ago. ;-)

I really liked the way the oilers played against the redwings last game ...hopefully the leafs respect that

Yeah, I managed to catch the game in an hour replay, it was a pretty good match.

Every home game from now on is fairly important.  Not much margin for error.

I'm more worried about them improving their road record over their home record. It seems they play very well at home.

Conklin was horrible. After he was pulled the Wings won the remainder of the game.

The Wings made a push, no doubt but that doesn't detract from my enjoyment of the game or noting that Edmonton played well too.

Can you tell the trade deadline is approaching? Try 28 scouts/executives from 22 NHL teams here for Oilers-Leafs game tonight at ACC

Yeah, they just mentioned that on Sportsnet, that's almost every team in the league. I wonder what teams decided not to come.

Tom Renney was hit in the face with a puck during practice today and won't be behind the Oilers bench tonight. It sounds like he'll be fine, so I won't feel bad thinking this could be a big advantage for us.

Tis the season for rampant speculation. Packs of wild scouts roaming the landscape; their Blackberries flashing and buzzing as they deftly stalking their prey.
