Game 60. Devs versus Leavs. Criticality.

Well, I kinda supported the notion that they should probably just ride Gus for a few games again, to see if he could get going, but it's pretty hard to do that after that Epic Fail tonight in net. Reimer's not looking any better either.

They're both terrible.

Didn't we have a goalie from Scandinavia that let in soft goals all the time just recently? I'm having a massive deja vu

We've had goalies from all over who let in soft goals all the time recently. :)

Aside from Reimers cinderella streak last year, we haven't had a goalie who didn't let in soft goals all the time since Belfour.

Devils had to be laughing at that winning goal. "I shot it wide and it went in!"

The Leafs played well enough to win. They battled back THREE times after weak goals against and what happens in OT? Another weak goal.

You can talk about defensive zone coverage all you want, but when the team sees that kind of performance in the net they are TERRIFIED of making a single mistake and allowing a shot. Goaltending is the root of all the problems. See Reimer last season and how he suddenly "fixed" the Leafs defensively.

Go Sens?

Oh, that didn't taste good coming out of my mouth.

lol it's bad but it will never be THAT bad! :)

No, just for tomorrow night, I meant.  No need for the nuclear option. Yet.....

Oh I see, for a second there you had me worried, I thought we were going to have to organize an intervention. :)

Honest question since I'm curious, can anyone remember the last time we won a game scoring 2 or more goals of the caliber NJ scored tonight?  Off the top of my head I can't think of one, but maybe someone else can.

The first one versus Rangers and the Columbus game when we chased Mason.

If you are RW, who starts next game?  I don't envy that decision.

Gustavsson.  Time to give one of them a run of games no matter what.

I agree.  Going back to Gus will maybe give him a confidence boost.  Gustavsson at least looks more like a goalie...Reimer at best is another Justin Pogge

Columbus, that's the one I'm thinking of.

Owuya or trade please Brian.

I feel terrible for Jonas, he was epic in the third and then absolutely killed any good will he had regained with that OT stinker.

The fact that one specifically happened in OT is such a hard pill to swallow, especially given the effort put forth by the group to eventually tie it.
