Tonight's the premiere of this year's version apparently.  Figured it could use a thread, I enjoyed last year's, so looking forward to watching this one.

"He's a good player but don't s*** your pants on him" - Torts on Kessel. What? #HBO #24/7

I dont know why, but I'm convinced the year the Leafs get involved in this show will be the year they finally win the cup.  8)

Can you imagine CBC doing this for 2 canadian teams? It would probably be downright awful.

They would have that woman who hosts Dragon's Den narrate it and it would sound like it was hosted by a librarian.  Then, Don Cherry would be on for 40 minutes yelling at everybody.

Also Vancouver would accuse the league of tampering for having a camera follow around their players during the day.

Or they'd whine endlessly about the fact they weren't included.

Don't forget PJ Stock has to be included in some capacity. CBC loves people who have a personality of a Kleenex box. They had Jonathan Torrence on for years.

I would prefer CBC over TSN doing something like that.  I don't like when TSN does those sorts of pieces, they always seem to try and wring the most ridiculous drama out of situations where none exist and comes off looking dumb.

You've just described nearly every Canadian television series ever produced. :)

I wonder when the Beachcombers series is coming out on DVD? Anyone? Littlest hobo?

Apparently Bryzgalov steals the show, which isn't that surprising.
To me, he comes across as a tard since he isn't doing his job well on the ice.  If he were playing great, then he would be hilarious.

A 'tard'? Brilliant.

Episode three was an interesting show, there was a moment when they edited together Laviolette and Torts during the second intermission, they were almost saying the same thing, motivational speaking for the most part.
