I'm just guessing, but doesn't he make way too much to be a backup?  His numbers look ok, a .905 save percentage isn't terrible.  But it's certainly not good.  I would hope there are better options for the Leafs.

*edit* I just checked and he's making close to $5 million.  This one gets a big "no" from me!

No. Teams would have to pay everything that's left on the contract.
