Why are these games on TSN4?  Do they have something against putting the Leafs game on the main TSN channel?

What's the scuttlebutt on Noah Hanifin these days, and is anyone on the board still longing wistfully that we had drafted him (or even Strome for that matter) instead?

TSN breaks all their channels up regionally. There isn't really a "main" channel. All their usual programming appears on every channel, but they split off for things like NHL coverage. TSN4 is their Toronto-region channel.

I don't wish the Leafs drafted him but just at a quick glance his numbers are ok for a 19 year old defenseman. Especially considering it doesn't look like he's found a regular partner(not that Carolina has someone he could really lean on regardless).

Jay McClement!

Why the 7pm start instead of 7.30?

My guess is TSN wanted the earlier start time so they can switch to showing the end of the MLS playoff game between TFC and Montreal instead of missing it entirely.  TSN1 and TSN3 will have the full MLS game live.

Thanks!

I dug up his hockeyviz graphs, and it looks like he's more than serviceable, albeit not stabilized yet (as you noted). There's a whole other gear when he plays with Jordan Staal (both this year and last year), so I'm curious to see what it is about their respective games that elevates both their play (other than Staal is good).

Small sample size of course:

You are the best CTB.

I'm expecting nothing short of a 6 - 1 win for the Leafs on my birthday.

Thanks. Admittedly, I was quite proud of that one.

Also figured that nobody really cares about Teuvo Teravainen scoring at a 48-point pace.

I was solidly on the fence between Hanifin and Marner and thought Hanifin-Marner-Strome were going to be picked in that order. I think I'd still be happy had it been Hanifin instead of Marner.

I advocated pretty hard for Hanifin over Marner.  The snowmobile turned out to deliver a pretty fantastic ride, though.  8) :o

As did I - I actually had Hanifin over both Strome and Marner.  In related news, my shoe doesn't taste that bad...

Marner right now looks like a unique enough talent that he could very well be a steal at the pick but the Hanifin argument was always one about the team's needs and as happy as we all are to have Marner that question is still kind of an open-ended one. None of us are going to be thrilled with the Leafs if they achieve what the Capitals have with Ovechkin(and Backstrom and Green and etc) so it's probably best to leave any gloating for when the team's really got something to gloat about.

No. No. You need to gloat now in case the time doesn't come again.  ;)

That's a good reminder.

I'd still like to know regardless of team result in a few years, where we shook out in a tightly contested, nearly fandom-splitting decision in which all three choices are likely winners. It'd be nice to know that we were the best winner.

But in another, more accurate way, Marner is the winner.

(...I'm hoping.)
