Ah, the matchups with NYI.  So compelling that the GDT remains empty for hours on end.

I'm trying to recall moments from past Islander games.  We've had plenty where we fouled the mattress.  But the one that stands out is the 185-foot skipper that beat ... Toskala?  See, I can't even remember that.

No Nabby, maybe no Vanek?  No excuses.

Kessel will play. Bernier starts.

What happened to win and you're in?

Reimer's numbers against the Islanders aren't very good, so maybe that's why.  Only thing I can think of at least.

I'm thinking they are still in more of a set schedule, so as long as Reimer gets the start on Thursday I'm fine with this decision.

It appears that Pierre-Marc Bouchard will play instead of Grabner (healthy).

They're plugging Boulton into the line-up after being a healthy scratch for a bit, so Bouchard coming out was a bit of a guess. But I'll take Boulton for Grabner any day of the week. Thank god other coaches are almost just as stupid when it comes to face punchers.

Nabokov has a.892 SV% this season.  Leafs are facing their better goalie.  Still, the Leafs have the decided edge in net.

Heh.  The last time I heard of Poulin was when he had to come in to replace the starter (whoever he was) when the guy blew out his groin warming up.  Or something.

Holland, Smith, McClement, Smithson, oh me, oh my.

to be honest, they are doing better than I thought they would

It helps that we've only seen them as a group for only one game :)

Kadri returns on Thursday, and Bozak within the next few games after that.  Only a couple more games to weather the storm with a rag-tag group at center.
