So when are they going to decide on the length of the suspension?

The hearing was scheduled for 1pm. I'd imagine we'll know before game time tonight.
I'll be shocked if he isn't done for the series. He's such a dumbass.

It'll be a minimum of 5 games I think.
Yup. I heard that this will be his 5th suspension for a hit to the head.

I would assume well probably hear the outcome around 3pm.  I?m not expecting anything less than 5 games.  In no way do I think it deserves it but for some reason I?m expecting 10.

I mean - I am expecting him to get 4 or 5 games.  I just remember when Brad Marchand, who was a repeat offender at the time, got a $5,000 fine and 0 games for cross checking Andrew MacDonald in the face right before the playoffs last year.  Precedent, no?

I think that Marchand got off way too easy there but the amount of force between his and Kadri's was vastly different I think.

gotta drag it out as much as possible.  maybe they should mic Kadri and call it "inside the mind of a suspended player"

Televised interview with Mark Borowiecki, between two ferns.

Motive is a big part of any crime and I will say this: after Shanny's speech to Naz and in-house suspension a few years ago it's been two incidents for him and both have been directly after teammates have suffered what looked to be in his eyes head-shots (Marner last year and Patty against the stanchion this year). To his credit Naz has never gone after someone after taking damage to himself, only to his teammates. I really don't think he's a bad guy or bad teammate. Liability? That's a valid argument now.

I largely agree here. Kadri sees himself as the hero, per hockey justice and team camaraderie, hence the general lack of remorse.

What would be nice for him to realize is that the team's philosophy is to score goals first and foremost. If you're defending a teammate, maybe go with how Hainsey and Hyman usually do it. That way you can be an awesome teammate, vent emotional frustration through moderately curated violence*, feel like you accomplished something, and not get suspended for it.

* I still think fighting is stupid, so I would really rather he just stick to scoring awesome goals.

I mean we were all pretty thrilled when the league finally came down hard on Tom Wilson and gave him a very hefty suspension after multiple incidents. If the league decided to use a similar multiplier rule here I wouldn't entirely be surprised to see something close to 10. Like Guilt Trip said, this will be his 5th suspension for something relating to head contact and apparently no other player has had that many.

I'm generally indifferent on the whole fighting thing - I am ok with hockey fights that build up from emotions in the game but that the whole 2 heavyweights pre-agreed too fighting is just nonsense and boring.

However, if there was ever a time to drop the gloves it was on Saturday night.  That's what I understood the "code" to be.  You wrong me or my teammate, and the refs don't police it, you have to drop the gloves. That's what Kadri should have done.  Not this nonsense that Kadri did.

I'm a big Kadri fan, but he deserves a "rest of series" or a 5-8 game suspension.  The Bruins played him like a fiddle - AGAIN.  Rinse and repeat.  So Frustrating.

Meh, this could be worse.  Tavares, Matthews, Marner, or Andersen could have gotten hurt.  Kadri was pretty key to this series in his own way but I like what Ennis brings to the table.  The Leafs have plenty of forward depth for exactly this type of situation.

Babcock needs to come up with a solution to Boston's bedlam style of physical play.  Game 1 was awesome.  Boston clearly adjusted to it.  Now it's up to Babcock to solve this problem.

Tampa is down 3-0 in their series.  If this Leafs can take out Boston it could be the golden opportunity they need to take home all the glory this year.
