3-9-4 start, but really what were they expecting? The team might have been able to do some damage if Thomas returned to form, but that clearly didn't happen. The fact that he got them into the playoffs in 2011-12 (something that I completely forgot about) should have given him some extra leeway.

I suspect he won't be out of work long... Might have been a great fit in Philly if they hadn't jumped the gun there.

It's Philly. They could very well change coaches again next week.

Thomas actually looked like he was rounding into form before he got hurt again, but, really, if your hopes lie on a 39 year old goalie who's coming back after taking a year away from the game, then you have to be a little more realistic with your expectations.

I think Philli is about to do something completely nuts.  Coaching change might be only a small part of it. Berube not likely to last the season anyway.

I found this rather strange. Their expectations for a very young team with a crew of mercenaries who are underachieving seem to be way too high.  Tallon said himself their top two centres are 19 and 21 years old (Bujstad and Barkov).. seriously umm what are you expecting?!?!?

Feels like Tallon was too impatient on this one. Wonder if new ownership was putting pressure on already.  Just doesn't seem like his style, esp. coming out after this and talking about the players being next.
