Game Notes

TOR
?Andersen (25-11-2, 2.57 GAA, .923 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?If you haven't heard, the Leafs powerplay has been struggling. In 2019 they have the 30th ranked PP with just 3 goals on 35 opportunities. However it looked very strong against the Rangers so hopefully they can build on that

COL
?Varlamov (13-13-8, 2.91 GAA, .906 Sv%) will likely start for the Avalanche
?Colorado has just 3 wins in their last 20 games and are 0-4-3 in their last 7 games
?Despite that they are still 10th in the West and just 4 points behind Minnesota for the final wild card spot
?The scoring duo of Rantanen and MacKinnon have finally seen their scoring dip slightly. In the past 20 games they have 17 and 19 points respectively. In the past 7 it's just 2 for Rantanen and 4 for MacKinnon

Injuries

Code:

?Ian Cole - Upper Body - Injured Reserve
?Vladislav Kamenev - Shoulder - Injured Reserve

I gotta be honest I can't stay up for these late games.  I'm gonna miss lc9's negative posts all game.

I was at an Avs game about 2 weeks ago and they got thumped pretty good by the Wild.  No news here, but after the big line the Avs have a lot of mediocrity on the forward lines, and since the big line is finally cooling off they have regressed to the .500 team they really are.

So if you take care of 92/29/96 you should be in good shape.

Unless Georgiev is in goal.  :P

Here we go!

Now if Johnsson could flip spots with Marleau we might get somewhere.

It?ll probably be a Kadri and Matthews swap.

That's what I'd prefer. I don't want to see Kapanen and Johnsson together with Matthews. Matthews between Nylander and Johnsson would be great.

It wouldn't entirely surprise me if Babcock has been strategically riding the brakes to this point in the season, getting guys used to playing with different linemates before putting his optimal lines together for the stretch run.  I have no idea how we'd ever know, though.

Well then if he is doing this, why hasn't he split up JT and Marner? Haven't seen Mitch with Kadri and Marleau like last year.
