Game Notes

TOR
?Campbell (11-2-0, 2.19 GAA, .922 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?After winning 11 straight Campbell has lost his last 2 games. He'll look to get back into the W column here tonight
?Matthews (injury) and Nylander (COVID Protocol) both skated with the Leafs yesterday and look to be ready to get back into the line-up

VAN
?Holtby (4-6-2, 3.57 GAA, .894 Sv%) will likely start for the Canucks
?Vancouver is of course playing in their first game since March 24th after a large COVID outbreak shutdown their team. 22 players and 4 members of the coaching staff tested positive, along with members of the teams families. Vancouver was of course supposed to return to the ice on Friday but the league delayed their return by a couple of days
?The Canucks lines here might not be entirely accurate as the media hasn't been granted access to their recent practices (must to their chagrin)
?Nate Schmidt and Jake Virtanen are the only 2 Vancouver players to remain on the NHL's COVID Protocol list

Injuries

?Frederik Andersen - Lower Body - Injured Reserve
?Riley Nash - Knee - Injured Reserve
?Ben Hutton - COVID Protocol - Out
?Nick Foligno - COVID Protocol - Out
Code:

?Nate Schmidt - COVID Protocol - Out
?Jake Virtanen - COVID Protocol - Out
?Elias Pettersson - Upper Body - Injured Reserve
?Justin Bailey - Upper Body - Injured Reserve
?Micheal Ferland - Concussion - Out indefinitely

As much as I dislike the Canucks, you can't help but feel bad for them in this situation.

Hack the bone!

Just kidding.  I hope they are ready to play and no one gets hurt.

So small upgrade.

This is a game where they separate prior year narratives.

They should destroy Vancouver, years prior they would somehow blow it.

Not this time

Apparently Hughes got hit very hard by Covid. Surprised to see him playing already.

Holl and Brodie swapping spots on defence. Seems like a decent experiment.

Canucks lineup looks like a dogs breakfast. Leafs can't bury these guys tonight somethings wrong. Other than Foligno and Andersen we have the playoff starters plus Canucks conditioning should come into play. Leafs 5-2.

Honestly feels like Mikheyev should have 20 goals this year. Man he misses a lot of chances. He's found another gear since the injury but not capitalizing on many of his chances.
