Game Notes

TOR
?Hutchinson (0-0-1, 3.85 GAA, .894 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?The long-awaited and often asked for switch of Moore for Kapanen happened in last night games, and had instant positive results. It's expected that will stick for a little bit
?I assumed that the 4th line duos would get swapped for this game after Timashov and Shore played 2 consecutive games. Babcock seemed non-committal about that after last night's game so who knows

WSH
?Holtby (1-1-2, 4.27 GAA, .846 Sv%) will start for the Capitals
?Another game, another potential opposing starting goalie who is struggling mightily this season. On Monday Holtby allowed 3 goals on 3 shots in about 7 minutes of action against Colorado before being pulled. That gave him a .000 Sv% and 22.78 GAA for the game

Injuries

?Travis Dermott - Shoulder - Injured Reserve
?Zach Hyman - Knee - Injured Reserve
Code:

?Michal Kempny - Hamstring - Injured Reserve

Two wins in a row at home would be nice. Looking forward to seeing what the Tavares, Marner , Moore combination can do in this one.

On whether he will rotate in new bodies on the fourth line for the back-to-back tomorrow in Washington:

I don?t know what we are going to do yet. We will get on the plane. That is the good thing about it. We?ll decide and break down the whole game. By the time we land, we?ll have a plan for tomorrow. Obviously, that is two nights in a row where our fourth line has been really good for us.

Their fourth line is just missing Soshnikov* for some guaranteed former Leaf revenge.

* he's lighting it up in the KHL

We'll see what their energy level's like. Even though it's the 2nd in a back-to-back with the Caps waiting at home, I think they'll have good jump. It's not like the brutal last game of a 3-in-4 / 4-in-6 stretch with travel. That one's usually a stinker.

Go Leafs Go!

Kap needed that. Love the shorty.

My 1 year daughter is super fussy tonight, she wasn?t happy when I cheered the goal, usually she?s cool with it.

Cat like reactions by Samsonov there as Kapanen had all day to find that puck and put it into the yawning cage

I like how Kapanen picked up that pass and stopping at the net instead of going for a tap and curl
