I really do get what the Leafs are trying to do by keeping control of the puck, but it doesn't work when you're doing fly by's in your own zone once you lose the puck. Saw an awful lot of it in the game last night. There was also a lot of reaching for pucks. Every team is allowed bad games, but that's two in a row where the free wheeling nature of the team could of potentially hurt them. Do that against Boston or Washington and you're not coming back from it.
It?s not great, but they were also the games before and after the Christmas break - games that tend to be sloppy. And, one of them was an afternoon game, and those are often adventures. You?re right in that it can?t happen against better teams, I just wouldn?t be too worried about these particular games being poorly played.
