I?m seeing this one as a bit more of a nail biter than the last two. How are the Ducks so good this season??

The Ducks have some good young talent in Drysdale and Zegras. Definitely curious to see how they look.

Why is Clifford playing?  It can't be for hockey reasons.

If they trade Mikheyev and keep Clifford or Ritchie, I'm going to lose it.

Even the worst teams in the league will go from the basement to middle of the pack with good goaltending and one or two guys having big years.

Their record is also not entirely indicative of their on-ice play. They?ve been a mediocre 5-on-5 team and their offence is heavily propped up by their PP. Their overall shooting percentage of 10.5% is largely unsustainable. They?re the most western team to fall out of a playoff spot.

I would have preferred they just kept Anderson up so we could get a look at him but it's not like we're talking about Kyle McLaren here. Clifford is a capable NHL body. Him coming into the line-up as the teams 14th/15th forward isn't really a problem.

I believe you mean Fraser. Kyle was a capable defenceman.

I?m not a huge fan of Clifford playing over guys like Anderson who have played to good soldier role in the minors since last year.  Absolutely nothing about Clifford?s play in the past year deserves him a roster spot and to be honest I though he was invisible with the Leafs last time we acquired him.  Clifford?s biggest impact was injuring Mrazek leading to David Ayers coming into the game

Ha!  I'd totally forgotten this.

But yeah really, why not Anderson?  They (over)paid to get him after all.

Leafs looking a little overwhelmed here

Yes, as Ray just noted this is a different Ducks team.  Brodie has made to look like a rookie on that move by Zegras.
