Line-up Notes
TOR
?Leafs washed out most of the McDavid hype on the back of Andersen's tremendous performance in a penalty-filled affair, and a balanced attack up and down the lineup. They are now 2-5-4 on the road this year.
?4th line centre extraordinaire, William Nylander, is tearing up the road splits, with 12 of his 16 pts in 11 road games. First line centre, Auston Matthews, is also a road warrior, with 13 of his 18 pts coming on the road.
?Leafs now have 3 double-digit goal scorers in Matthews, JvR, and Kadri, each from different lines.

EDM
?Calgary is back home after a 6-game Eastern road trip (3-2-1) and looking to bounce back from two straight losses to the Flyers and Islanders
?The season series with the Leafs was split last year, with Calgary taking their home game with a 4-3 win.

Injuries

?Nathan Horton - Back - Out indefinitely
?Joffrey Lupul - ?\_(ツ)_/? - Out indefinitely
?Stephane Robidas - Old - Out indefinitely
?Josh Leivo - Inconvenient - Injured Reserve
?CarltonTheBear - Personal Leave - Day-to-day
Code:

?Johnny Gaudreau - Finger - Injured Reserve
?Lance Bouma - Shoulder - Out indefinitely
?Ladislav Smid - Neck - Out for the Season

Matt Stajan. He's still going?

He is awesome.

I don't expect the lineup to change much after a huge win, but it is a back-to-back. Enroth might draw in. I'd love to see Marincin and Corrado get some game action.

I actually quite liked Stajan when he was in Toronto. He was part of the first Leafs team I was able to properly follow and was a young guy breaking through. It just feels like that was a very long time ago!

Same here. The excitement around Stajan, Steen, Wellwood wasn't quite as much as Matthews, Marner, Nylander, but they were a breath of fresh air on a team of last-lap UFA signings.

I really appreciated how Stajan always took the time to answer questions, even after bad games. He always found a way to score on us after getting traded to Calgary.

Flashbacks of the Steen + Colaiacovo for Stempniak trade cameback...

As surface by the media yesterday, would you flip JvR for Hamilton ? (straight up)
I wouldn't.

Anyway, Go Leafs Kids Go!!!

Any word on Connor Brown and the shot block he had last night?

If he's not ready to go, it might finally be Leivo time.

I thought I read that Leivo was not yet cleared to play.  If Brownie can't go, we may see 7 D and 11 F

Can't clear Leivo unless somebody is moved off the roster first (e.g. Brown to IR or Holland traded). We'll know more later in the early afternoon after their morning press time (I don't think they'll do the skate).

Ah, that makes sense.  I thought he was still hurt.

He is still 'hurt'.  ;) Just not on the active roster, but practicing with the team (and traveling too, which I wasn't aware was allowed).

Does anyone know where Lupul is?  He didn't even make an appearance at training camp did he?  He could be backpacking in Europe for all we know.

Robida's Island is my best guess  :o

But he is not even posting on Instagram like he use to.

He did show up to camp, and was promptly not cleared by medical staff.  I can't remember who tweeted it (maybe Mirtle), but he legitimately still has a bad back and bad groin.  Not at the level of Horton, but his career may nonetheless still be done.

They said he showed up at camp, but was there one picture of him?  Was he behind the grassy knoll?  I don't remember seeing an actual video clip or interview with him at all.

Hermanator yeahhhh boyeeeee  ;D

Lou's Island has hidden Zapruder footage. Lupul has eight-foot beard and playing lead sax in a San Jose nightclub.

Wow really? That trade seemed insane from Calgary's end given that JVR is UFA after next year and Hamilton has 3 more years after that.  I would do it in a heartbeat unless there are glaring flaws in Hamilton I don't know about, but still so bad that he's worth pretty much nothing after next year?

If you were ever a fan of the old Star Trek episodes, sometimes when someone was in the transporter they would sort of phase in/out without ever becoming material. That's where Lupul is.
