Game Notes

TOR
?Andersen (32-13-4, 2.57 GAA, .923 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?Kadri appears ready to return to the line-up as he was back in his normal 3C spot at practice on Friday
?Does that mean a Matthews-Nylander reunion? No, not yet at least as Nylander was on Kadri's wing
?Gauthier missed practice because of an illness, so Petan filled in at 4C. Babcock clarified that he's still expecting the Goat to play

EDM
?Koskinen (20-15-4, 2.75 GAA, .912 Sv%) will likely start for the Oilers
?The Oilers are playing not completely awful lately. They're on a 4-game winning streak and are 6-1-1 in their last 8 games
?McDavid is on a 7-game point streak with 2 goals and 10 assists
?Draisaitl is on a 12-game point streak with 9 goals and 9 assists

Put Nylander back with Matthews already! Enough of this madness! They are both signed long term let them rack up the points.

So we should put Marner with Goat and Brown? Try to keep the numbers down lol. I agree with you on this one. I think/hope Babs will do it when Kadri gets comfortable playing again.

Fun fact: Oilers were a lottery ball bounce away from having Auston Matthews.

Leafs were also a lottery ball bounce away from having Connor McDavid

Do I remember correctly that we had high odds of winning that?  But didn't.

We had the highest odds at one point.

Yes you remember correctly. With one ball left Leafs had the best odds of getting McDavid but didn't. Also during the Matthews lottery I believe that the Habs and Oilers had just as good or better odds than the Leafs with one ball left.

How different would this team be with McDavid and no Marner and Matthews? (Who knows where the Leafs finish and pick in 2016 if we had McDavid on the team)

Who knows indeed.  But my guess is that even with McDavid we would have finished, well, about where EDM has with him.

Not so sure about that.  In that draft we got Marner but left him in junior another year. Also Nylander didn't play for most of the year so the Leafs could tank for Matthews. Had we won McDavid I think both him and Nylander are on the team all year and maybe we don't finish bottom 3. Getting McDavid might have changed the Leafs approach

You certainly cannot deny McDavid can take over a game far better than Matthews does, and does so at this point far more often than Matthews.

Well, he's the best player in the world.  Matthews is a cut or two below him.

Moore sits eh?  Babcock...king of watering down a lineup.
Our Leafs better win this game tonight going away! If not, I think it'll be a case of the players suffering from Babcock fever once again!
