OTT
?Forsberg (0-0-0, NA, NA) will likely start for the sens
?Forsberg is looking for his first appearance of the season. He started the year with Edmonton and was placed on waivers during training camp. He eventually found himself on waivers for a 3rd time and was claimed by the sens last week
?Ottawa is coming off 2 straight wins against the Flames, including a 3-1 victory on Wednesday. They have points in 5 straight games, including a win against the Leafs and two OT/SO losses to Vancouver

How are so many goalies getting hurt this year?

I think the covid rules limit the time that they can show up at the rink, so maybe they can't do their normal pregame rituals.

Also, less rest between games, and I imagine there are restrictions around how much time can be spent with training support staff, in the team's workout space, etc. I can definitely see that having a larger impact on goalies than it would on skaters.

3-2-1 record against Ottawa but the Sens are 3-3-0 against us.

Yep, need to fix that equation.  I'd be pretty disappointed if we don't end the season 6-2-1 against them.

Kerfoot's media availability today was fun:

Edit: I like Kerfoot as a swiss army utility offensive forward and the cap hit is technically fair. But in context with the rest of the lineup, what do we really lose by converting his cap hit + roster spot into a different position of need* and fill his role with Nic Petan?

* Someone to replace Engvall as shutdown centre, or someone to replace Simmonds/Galchenyuk as a bonafide top 6 winger who is not ass away from the puck, or someone who can drive a shutdown line like Hyman and push him back into the top 6. Pretty unfortunate that Kerfoot cannot fulfill either the Engvall or Hyman roles.

Sorry Herman but I hear Petan is being groomed to be the new Zamboni driver for MLSE. The old guy is our new back up Goalie.

It is true he wouldn't have scored this goal without having received a pass.

I see Tkachuk is going to be a tool all game

What's new. I just don't get how guys like him, his brother, Marchand etc don't get completely creamed at any point. There are players who are hard nosed and then there are these clowns that should be put in their place.

The drop pass needs to die.  The have everyone standing still at the blue line waiting for the trailing player to attack the zone.  They just makes it harder to enter the zone with possession

It's hard to understand how the PP can be so ineffective.

Actually, the fact that we don't have anyone who can regularly get it to the net with a hard point shot is part of it.

At least they need to vary it up.  Put Hyman or Simmonds or even Mikheyev out there and dump it in and let them play fetch on at least one of the units.
