Quick poll: Anyone feeling good about this one?

More good (better?) than I would have in the same sort of situation last season or the season before. I see a new, higher level of maturity and therefore structure in the Leafs squad now.

In saying that, having had such a good run, a reset of a humbling defeat might not be a terrible thing if it reinforces the maturity and structure.

I'd still rather crush them, though.

This is more of a "I care about the effort more than the result game".

If we win, fantastic.  If we lose, just lose while playing well.  I think there are enough injuries/suspensions and the team has played the most games in the league right now so they are somewhat tired.  A good effort is all I expect although I would much rather we win

Great job CtB (As usual)

Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay,  on its last cup run, had several players with injuries across the season, they missed key players and kept winning with the players that they called up.

(Pit even hammered the Leafs with basically an AHL roster early this season).

So, to be successfull in this league, the calls up, must step it up. (as everyone needs to fill the void of that key players, see Marner, Sandin injuries).

The Leafs, to achieve greatness, must do this. On its AHL Calder Run, Sheldon Keef rotate a lot of players, and he is doing this with the Leafs as well, I think that this will make them a better team overall, and they will go through those adversities on a long season, the thing that will separate them from the rest is how can they adapt without the key players.

I am very positive about the Leafs this season and I am hoping for a Whashington kind of break through, once they advance past the 1st round, they win it all.

Go Leafs Go!!!

I'll be attending this one.  I think's it's been about 3 years since I've been at a Leaf game.

This is game 600 for Rielly.

He's currently 21st all time in games played by a Maple Leaf.  If he doesn't miss any games this year he will finish at 654 games played and will be 16th (passing Todd Gill 639, Allan Stanley, 633, Billy Harris 610, Wendel Clark 608 and Sid Smith 601).

If Rielly plays his entire 8 year extension with the team (and doesn't miss a game) he would finish with 1290 games played.  That would put him 100 games clear of George Armstrong and Tim Horton for 1st in all time games played.

He likely breaks into the top 5 in all-time Leafs defensemen scoring.  Currently at 327 points (T-6th with Jim McKenny) and Red Kelly sits 5th at 351.

I think the leafs could easily win this one....it seems pretty random :-)  But I figure that the Leafs (and pretty much anyone else) have no little hope against them in the playoffs if they are this good without Kucherov and Point.

Possibly no Cirelli, meaning former Leaf and recently-acquired-on-waivers Riley Nash could come in for Tampa.

Yikes.  From 1st round draft pick to waivers.

Damn that deadline decision was a mistake.

You're thinking of Foligno, Nash was the guy they got for a 7th.

Although that doesn't really change your second statement.

You mean the guy we gave up a 6th for because we played him an extra game for no reason against Montreal even though he clearly wasn't in game shape.
