Game Notes

TB
?Vasilevskiy (1-1-0, 3.05 GAA, .908 Sv%) will likely start for the Lightning
?Tampa hasn't been nearly as dominant early this season as they were last year. They sit last in the NHL in CF% at just 40.4%
?They could be getting a big boost tonight though with the potenial season debut of Brayden Point. Point missed the start of the season with a hip injury and wasn't expected to return until late in October
?That's former Leafs draft pick Carter Verhaeghe lining up at 4C for Tampa. It took him awhile, but he finally made it to the NHL at the age of 24

TOR
?Andersen (2-1-0, 2.36 GAA, .918 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?No line-up changes are expected for the Leafs tonight, meaning the Spezza/Petan/Holl trio will be playing consecutive games for the first time this season

Injuries

?Cedric Paquette - Arm - Injured Reserve
?Brayden Point - Hip - Probable Thursday
Code:

?Travis Dermott - Shoulder - Injured Reserve
?Zach Hyman - Knee - Injured Reserve

If Point plays we can only hope he's garbage and not ready to go from the hip issue.

Just noticed that Verhaeghe is 4th line for Tampa.  From our 2013 draft, (Leafs only chose 5 players), 3 are in the NHL now.  Gauthier, Verhaeghe and Johnsson.

Hey how do you think I saw his name?  I reviewed those game notes extensively.  8)

I wonder if Tampa gets a boost from Brayden Point probably returning tonight. He had a hip issue that kept him out of training camp and their first three games.

And Spezza and Petan and Holl draw back in for consecutive games. Looks like Babcock liked what he saw from the group.

If Point plays well, though, it might help their possession game. Apparently their Corsi ratings are pretty bad so far.

One wonders if he might also help with their points situation as a result.

I did.

That's why you're my favourite, Frank.

The level of sycophancy around here is reaching new heights every day.  I call for an investigation.

I, for one, refuse to cooperate with this unconstitutional investigation.  ;D

I think the playoffs showed that any team, even the President's Trophy winner, losing the stellar play of their number one defenseman from concussion effects is a MAJOR blow, especially when said defenseman is arguably the best complete D-man in the league. Remember Crosby? He wasn't right for a whole year.

CTB's conduct here has been great. Perfect actually. Actually better than perfect.

I guess the mantle of integrity falls on my rounded shoulders.  I demand that articles of impeachment be lodged against CTB and, moreover, that this GDT be prorogued.

This GDT will proceed with or without a deal!
