Looking For Some Help With TMLfans.ca

We're looking for a couple things:

1.  A couple people who would be interested in posting Leafs updates to our main front page.  Say you're listening to Fan590 and they say that Reimer is starting tonight.  We'd just need you to post that on our front page via Wordpress.  The pay is great nothing, but you'd have our eternal thanks!

2. One or two people comfortable in writing a column about the Leafs or NHL in general.  Doesn't have to be regular weekly or anything - whenever you have time/energy.  Again, the pay is fantastic nothing and we'll love you forever.

Fire off questions or thoughts to myself or Rob Del Mundo (who basically runs the editorial section himself.)  I plan to add more to the front page as time permits as well.  You can use your real name, or an alias...

I could actually help.  I would need some sort of acknowledgement though, right now I'm a first year journalism student so in a couple years I am going to be applying for internships and then even further down the line I am going to be trying to break through into the industry.  I think it would be great for my writing portfolio to be able to site that I am actually a regular contributor to a fairly popular website.

What exactly are you looking for exactly?  I usually go to fantasy hockey 911 to get probable goaltenders and it has been reliable from what I have seen.  I could update that, would it go in an article posting or would there be a separate section in the sidebar or something like that?  Is probable goaltenders the only type of update you are looking for?  I can get practice lines off yahoo or tsn ice chips.

I'm a fairly good writer so I would enjoy writing some blogs on the Leafs. On the topic of improving the site it would be cool if we could post some links to good stories, blogs, or interviews from around the web.  Good examples would be this article on Lupul: http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news?slug=nc-toronto-maple-leafs-joffrey-lupul-012012 or this interview with Burke http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Yr93weDmNw

What kind of articles would you be looking for?  Hard news type or more opinion pieces or feature stories?

I'm wide open to content.  Numerous people that have wrote here moved on to work in the media.  A good example is Adam Proteau, from the Hockey News.  He wrote a regular weekly column for us while going to Ryerson.  We're more than happy to provide a reference for anyone wanting to use this as a career.

Fire me off an email and we can discuss this more.  Email is rcouchman@rogers.com

Cheers!

Thanks for the post Rick, I've been meaning to look for additional writers for a while.

McPwnage: Simple opinion pieces are fine, as long as it's Leafs related, and the more current the topic, the better.

Visit our Blogs section for examples:

Definitely we could use some volunteers to contribute articles, and/or get the "links" section going again.
