Lucic to CGY for James Neal

I get that Neal had a horrible season but he was a consistent 20-goal scorer his entire career prior to that. Did the aging curve hit him HARD (he turns 32 this September) or was it just an off season? I'd try betting on the latter before trading him for one of the worst contracts in the league. This doesn't make much sense for Calgary.

There's gotta be something coming back to Calgary.  Puljujarvi maybe?

Reporters are saying there might be a pick/retained salary from Edmonton in the deal. Doesn't seem like any other players.

I agree although, with that said, it was also kind of weird that overnight Lucic became a garbage fire.

Yeah, that shooting percent of 5.0 is probably going to recover some. That being said, he is becoming pretty one-dimensional. Still could be a solid 2nd line winger, but, not going to worth his contract in the long run.

Like Lucic lol. One bad contract for another. Only way this is good for Calgary is for a salary dump, if the Oilers retain salary. Clagary still needs to sign Tkachuk, Rittich and Bennett with 9 mill in space.
