TOR
?Ilya Samsonov (4-0-0, 1.73 GAA, .938 Sv%) will likely start for the Maple Leafs
?Keefe continues to tinker with the bottom-6 forwards. At practice on Sunday he had Engvall back on the 3rd line in place of Aston-Reese, who is projected to be a healthy scratch

VGK
?Logan Thompson (2-2-0, 2.29 GAA, .926 Sv%) will likely start for the Golden Knights
?Phil "the Thrill" Kessel is set to play in his record-tying 989th consecutive game against his former team. Kessel has just 1 assist in 6 games so far this season while spending most of his time on Vegas' top line

I don't love that Malgin is sitting for the 3rd straight game.  He didn't really deserve to come out of the lineup in the first place.  If we are rotating guys, that's fine, but this Vegas team isn't remotely the same physical force they have been in years past.  We dont' really need Clifford and Simmonds in for them.

I agree. Obviously, the leafs have stats on this, but I just don?t see why an all defense line makes sense. If the center and one of the wingers is responsible defensively, isn?t that enough? Wingers don?t play that much of a roll defensively.  It seems that if every line has somebody who can help with transition and poking a goal, the overall goal differential will be improved.  Last year, Kampf?s numbers took a hit without Engvall to help with transition. I?d pair Kampf and Engvall and put Malgin back with Kerfoot and/or Tavares.  Drop one of the bruisers.

Dubas: "Look at all the shiny new things!"

Keefe: "No"

Dubas: "Yes but shiny and new! Fast and can score!"

Keefe: "No. Give me old and slow offensive black holes and a penchant for dumb penalties"

Kessel no goals so far this season?  You can book him for one tonight in his iron man tying streak game.

The game where he checked in for like 1 shift just to keep it going makes the "streak" extra meaningful.

Kessel didn't make up the rules...either way it's a pretty amazing accomplishment to play that long without missing time to illness/injury.

He actually got a shot on goal for that one shift so I'd say it still counts.

My only thing with it is that i think a fair case could be made that the guys who take days off to rest the nagging injuries that occur during a season are making better choices not just for their in-season performance but also for their long-term durability.

Went through Las Vegas for the first time in years last month.  It was even more awful than before.  Awful traffic, awful architecture, awful wastefulness, awful billboards (by the dozens) for ambulance chasers (including some who specialize in injuries sustained in casinos).

If ever there were a case for urban euthanasia, Vegas is it.
