NHL13

I'm surprised there isn't a thread on this already. Has anyone had a chance to try the demo?

I think they really upped the realism in this year's game (although there is no lockout option) :)

I played one game last night, seemed good, I like the skating changes.

Hopefully the 'cheap' goals aren't as prevalent this year, last year's online experience was a shootout to see who could create the most one timers.

Yeah, the game was completely broken from NHL11 imo. It became way too arcadey and you couldn't even knock the puck carrier off the puck half the time. Size and momentum made no difference.

Another women's hockey first...

Canada's Hayley Wickenheiser, and, American Angela Ruggiero, will be the first women to join the NHL 13 playable characters roster!

Why now you can hit the guy that swirves from behind the net, to the front and hits top corner?  :o

From when I played the game momentum plays a huge role. Physics have been vastly improved so I don't think that should be an issue. I think breakaways might happen too often though.

That sounds interesting. I think I may download the trial tomorrow and check it out... Ill provide a 1 line analysis as per usual..

I'd rather have too many breakways than be unable to get by Hal Gill with Phil Kessel.

Dude. In NHL12 everything was in favour to the puck carrier. Depending ont he angle you literally could not get checked off the puck, you were basically made out of concrete. I have no idea how the defense gave you a problem.

Problem? No. I average 12 goals a game on All-Star. In talking about how the D always stays with you, regardless of individual speed. The developers even admitted this was a problem in 12.

Oh yeah, its true, there was no way to blow out the defenders. But at the same time the puck carrier was basically a concrete block and couldn't get knocked off the puck.

Anyone know if NHL 13 is going to include a lockout mode? They should at least have that for people who pre-order.

LOL

The game comes out tomorrow, right?

Yeah it does. I was super excited for the game but now because of another round of this lockout BS my conscience wants me to boycott the game until the league gets its act together.

I still think the fans have all the power and could really force the issue if there was an organized resistance to buying anything with the NHL logo on it. See how much money there is to "revenue share" then, you stupid rich god damn *expletive riddled 5 minute rant*.

Then again, it's probobly the only alternative to watching texas hold'em poker on sportsnet all season long and I just can't do it again guys... I just can't.

The game plays fantastic compared to last years though.

STUPID LOCKOUT!! STUPID STUPID

Rosters all messed up. AGAIN.

What's up?

No Morgan Rielly, Matt Finn, Petter Granberg or Kenny Ryan in GM mode (I couldn't even find Ryan in the game), while guys like Jerome Flaake and Josh Nicholls are still there (and Flaake is signed to a contract). That's just the Leafs. When I try to fix it, it ends up bumping other players from the roster that should be there. I don't know about other teams but I'm sure the Leafs aren't the only team they just copied and pasted from last year.

Rielly and Finn are there for me.

Did you drop anyone from the roster before you started?

Have you found Owuya or Ryan? I can't find them. They were removed completely from last years roster update so I doubt they're there.
