Finally.  Putting both Thornton and Simmonds on the the first unit was a mistake.  Since PP1 is getting 3/4s of the time anyway, load it up.  Although I doubt Keefe would do it, I'd swap in Nylander for Marner too ? better outside shot guy.

Great job CtB (as usual)

Last dance with Edmonton this season, hopefully they can finish the series 6-2.

Go Leafs Go!!!

I get this. If Campbell is in any way sore he shouldn't be trying to play through the pain. Not when the Leafs essentially have a playoff spot already locked up and are now just jostling for positioning.

It might make for a tough game to watch, but I get it.

Yup it's the right move. It didn't work out well when Freddie was playing all those games at less then 100%.

Yeah but I remember that other horrible game he had against the Sens getting pulled after 2 goals I could have stopped.

Which Hutchinson will be get tonight? He's been Jekyll and Hyde this season.

His save percentages this season are kinda funny:

1.000
0.955
0.919
0.909
0.893
0.333

Two great MOTM worthy games, two other 30 or more save games, one bad game, one really really really bad game.

I'll be happy with the first 3, potentially content with the 4th and okay with the 5th if the team has really limited shots against, and angry with the 6th.

Frankly, if he could consistently be between 3 and 4, he'd be a fulltime NHL backup.

As long as no one is streaking down the wing to fire a wrister from basically the corner of the zone, Hutch will be fine.

I know leg and groin injuries can be finicky and this is probably not something where Campbell sits if the season is on the line but it really highlights that we need another goaltender

Definitely need to upgrade the #3 goaltending option, no question.

With all the reports suggesting that Andersen isn't done for the season I don't think it's really that simple. The options there would be to get another cheap #3 goalie, preferably from a Canadian team, like a Domingue or Forsberg but I mean I'm not sure anyone can confidently say someone like them would be clear upgrades over Hutchinson. Or you go and get a more expensive pending UFA like Bernier or Raanta (assuming either are healthy by the deadline) but then you're eating up the money the team had earmarked for a top-6 forward upgrade for a goalie who might only play a handful of games for the team (if any at all).
