Absolutely shocking stuff, the extent of the beating he inflicted on her is incredible.  He should be drummed out of the industry, not allowed to perform at the Grammy's.

"Your affiant, Detective De Shon Andrews, Serial No.----- has been a Police Officer for the Los Angeles Police Department for the past twelve years. In January 2003, your affiant was promoted to the rank of Detective. Since this promotion your affiant has worked various assignments which include Autos, Homicide, Robbery, the Abused Child Unit and Force Investigation Division. Your affiant is currently assigned as to major Assault Crimes, Wilshire Division. While working these assignments your affiant was responsible for investigating and assisting with the investigations of crimes that range from simple battery, murder/manslaughter and the use of force pertaining to police officers. In addition, your affiant has attended the Los Angeles Police Departments Basic Detective School, the Robert Presley Institute of Criminal Investigation Courses in Auto Theft and Major Assault Crimes, the Los Angeles Police Department's Homicide Investigators School and the California Robbery Investigators training seminar.

Christopher Brown and Robyn F. have been involved in a dating relationship for approximately one and a half years. on Sunday February 8, 2009 at 0025 hours, Brown was driving a vehicle with Robyn F. as the front passenger on an unknown street in Los Angeles. Robyn F. picked up Brown's cellular telephone and observed a three page text message from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with. A verbal argument ensured and Brown pulled the vehicle over on an unknown street, reached over Robyn F. with his right hand, opened the car door and attempted to force her out. Brown was unable to force Robyn F. out of the vehicle because she was wearing a seat belt. When he could not force her to exit, he took his right hand and shoved her head against the passenger window of the vehicle causing an approximate one inch raised circular contusion. Robyn F. turned to face Brown and he punched her in the face with his right hand while steering the vehicle with his left hand. The assault caused Robyn F's. mouth to fill with blood and blood to splatter all over her clothing and the interior of the vehicle. Brown looked at Robyn F. and stated "I'm going to beat the shit out of you when we get home! You wait and see!" Robyn F. picked up her cellular telephone and called her personal assistant, Jennifer ---------- at (818)--- ----. --------- did not answer the telephone, but while her voicemail greeting was playing, Robyn F. pretended to talk to her and stated "I'm on my way home. Make sure the cops are there when I get there."(This statement was made while the greeting was playing and was not captured as a message). After Robyn F. faked the call, Brown looked at her and stated, "You just did the stupidest thing ever! Now I'm really going to kill you!" Brown resumed punching Robyn F. and she interlocked her fingers behind her head and brought her elbows forward to protect her face. She then bent over at the waist, placing her elbows and face near her lap in attempt to protect her face and head from the barrage of punches being levied upon her by Brown. Brown continued to punch Robyn F. on her left arm and hand causing her to suffer a contusion of her left triceps that was approximately two inches in diameter and numerous contusions on her left hand. Robyn F. then attempted to send a text message to her other personal assistant, Melissa -----. Brown snatched the cellular telephone out of her hand and threw it out the window onto an unknown street.

Brown continued driving and Robyn F. observed his cellular telephone sitting in his lap. She picked up the cellular telephone with her left hand and before she could make a call he placed her in a head lock with his right hand and continued to drive the vehicle with his left hand. Brown pulled Robyn F. close to him and bit her on her left ear. She was able to feel the vehicle swerving from right to left as Brown sped away. He stopped the vehicle in front of ----------- and Robyn F. turned off the car, removed the key from the ignition and sat on it. Brown did not know what she had done with the key and began punching her in the face and arms. He then placed her in a head lock positioning the front of her throat between his bicep and forearm. Brown began applying pressure to Robyn F's. left and right carotid arteries causing her to be unable to breathe and she began to lose consciousness. She reached up with her left hand and began attempting to gouge his eyes in an attempt to free herself. Brown bit her left ring and middle fingers and then released her. While Brown continued to punch her, she turned around a[and] placed her back against the passenger door. She brought her knees to her chest, placed her feet against Brown's body and began pushing him away. Brown continued to punch her on the legs and feet causing several contusions. Robyn F. began screaming for help and Brown exited the vehicle and walked away. A resident in the neighborhood heard Robyn F's. pleas for help and called 911, causing a police response. An investigation was conducted and Robyn F. was issued a Domestic Violence Emergency Protective Order (EPO).

Your affiant conducted an interview with Melissa ----- who advised that on February 8, 2009 at approximately 0055, she revived a telephone call from Robyn F. from an unknown telephone number, later identified as the cellular telephone of Police Officer III Chavez, Serial No.-----. Robyn F. advised ---- that she had been assaulted by Brown. At approximately 0100 hours, Brown called ---- as if nothing had happened. ---- advised Brown that she had already talked to Robyn F. and was aware of what happened. --- advised Brown that the neighbors had called the police and that they were with Robyn F. Brown asked --- if Robyn F. had provided the police with his name and --- advised him that she had. Brown hung up the cellular telephone and did not call back."

Unfotunately this type of thing happens every day all over the place. Very sad.

What I don't get is the never ending celebrity gawking. On that level... the fact that this is Rhianna, just makes me think "who cares".

I think why this case is important is the reaction some young girls have had to his assault, we need to send a clear message that this kind of thing is reprehensible, by in large I agree with your sentiments though Fanatic.

When it first hit the main stream news about three years ago, which is the only reason I knew about it, I thought oh wow that's terrible, he must have punched her or something, but to hear the extent of the beating, absolutely shocking.

A sample of the reactions of his fans...

Brown?s fans, or ?Team Breezy as he calls them, have been flooding the social media tool with reactions to his appearance on the Grammys, many of them disturbingly referencing his assault on Rihanna.

?Chris Brown could serenade me and then punch me in the eye,? Casey Robison said on Twitter. ?I?m down for it.?

?I don?t know why Rihanna complained,? tweeted Stephanie Frederick. ?Chris Brown could beat me anytime he wanted to.?

I don't get why this is something the Grammys specifically should deal with. The Grammys are just a reflection of the music industry as it exists. If the record buying public is grotesque enough to keep buying Chris Brown albums, that's all that is going to matter to them.

It's a good point and one that everybody should think about in a whole lot of situations, not just this one.

I agree Nik, it's not the Grammy's to blame, but since these young girls that are buying his records are influenced by 'the media' giving him air time or the like need to take a stand surely.  The public is easily led, if the general consensus in the media was that the guy is a scum bag, his record sales would disappear.

I hope this report receives more mainstream coverage and people can see what a monster this guy really is and they treat him accordingly.

Unreal.  :o

Reading how the situation progressed, I'm surprised he didn't try veering his car wherever trying to kill them both.

I don't understand how his career survived this.  What, is any criminal activity whatsoever just seen as "cred" in the hip hop or pop world or whatever the hell music he makes.  Or maybe it's an extreme case of teenage girls liking the bad boy.  Either way, I don't get it.

I am right there with you, I assume it's that some people did not understand the full extent of what happened or have been desensitized about it.  The details above though, have to kill his career surely, I mean come on.

I suppose I'm kind of of two minds on the topic. On the one hand, I mean, I'm human. There's no way to read that police report, or have seen the photos, and not be repulsed at the kind of person who can do something like that. In my perfect world the issue of Chris Brown's recording career would be moot because he'd be in prison. Even in this less than perfect world, I'd be fine if his music career forever went away because of it.

But the reality of it is that I'd be ok if Chris Brown's recording career had gone away before this. I think, for me, it's proven pretty easy to separate my personal distaste for someone and my feelings on their work if I like their work. James Brown was frequently arrested for domestic violence. John Lennon, apparently, liked to take the odd shot at his first wife too. Now, I don't know if anything they did ever matched the scale of this particular act but the sad reality, one that probably doesn't reflect well on me, is that I still like their music. If it were possible, I'd still probably buy their music.

So as distasteful as I think it is that people still like Chris Brown(and especially the women that still think of him as a sex symbol) I don't know if it's fair to say that any particular stance by the media would have a big impact on his appeal to people who like his music. I think people are pretty forgiving of someone provided they like what they do and the reality is that if the demand is there, the media will cover it(some might even argue that it's their responsibility to report on what is, rather than advocate for what should be).

Wouldn't be the first woman in this situation to go back to her abuser.

it's not even really about her though.  I know the gut reaction of people, including myself, will be to say how can she be such an idiot..but really that's not the issue ...this guy beat the crap out of a human being ..forget the fact that it was a woman for a second ..this kind of assault is wrong no matter who it's done to.    The worst part about this is the fact that he has carried this out and seems to have gotten away with it..  which i guess says just about as much about society in general as it does about him ..

I think some will chalk this up to the desire to give someone a second chance ...but I never really got the impression that he was all that repentant about the original act.  He did come out and apologize but once that was over ..the media couldn't even broach the subject without him throwing a temper tantrum ....

The sad thing is ..if he does end up doing this again ...and it seems like he almost certainly will ..the judgment will probably come down on whoever he does this to ..be it rhianna or someone else that gets involved with him ...yet HE is the animal ..and we as a society seem to be unwilling to do anything about it...

anyway ...that wasn't all directed at you WhatIfGodWasALeaf, your comment just happened to be a jumping off point.

I understand completely, the fact remains though, many abused women do unfortunately return to their abusers arms.

We really need to step up as a society and confront this issue from all angles.

"We?re glad to have [Chris Brown] back. I think people deserve a second chance, you know. If you?ll note, he has not been on the Grammys for the past few years and it may have taken us a while to kind of get over the fact that we were the victim of what happened," - Ken Ehrlich, executive producer of the Grammys.

There's help and support out there for victims if you need it, Ken.

Why did she call her assistant instead of 911?

My honest guess.

1 part living not in the real world.  Everything gets run through a publicist/handler
1 part fear of the complete release of any details to the public once the paparazzi find out that Rihanna/Chris Brown were involved in an altercation.  I think a lot of younger celebrities just want to keep as much of their personal life out of the cameras, especially when it is ugly stuff like abuse.

It kind of reminds me of a story a few years back where two young women were trapped/lost and instead of calling for help they changed their status on Facebook. Eventually one of their friends/family called 911 when they saw the update.
