There's one week to go from today -- the 2015 NHL Entry Draft begins Friday June 26 (First Round) and continues to Saturday June 27 ( all subsequent Rounds from 2 to 7) -- and as Leafs fans anxiously await the day, and, as long as anyone can remember,  the Maple Leafs have two First Round picks -- 4th & 24th respectively.

They have no Second Round pick, but have at least a pick in each subsequent Round thereafter.

Now, the big question:  Who will their best pick be in the First Round (4th)?

This is a very important draft for a team needing to rebuild somewhat, and since Connor McDavid & Jack Eichel are practically foregone conclusions to be taken by Edmonton and Buffalo in the order ( as the #1 & 2 picks) in that First Round, what or who takes whom next is where it becomes interesting.

The Arizona Coyotes draft 3rd followed by the Maple Leafs at 4th.  Arizona has some choices considering their needs (either drafting defenceman Noah Hanifin or centre Dylan Strome, or whatever they choose to do).
The Maple Leafs too have choices depending on who is taken ahead of them or whom they feel will be best for them at this point (either of Hanifin, Strome or Marner or whomever and whatever).

Now, whom do you think will be the chosen one?

I think the Leafs take one of the centers (whoever Arizona doesn't take).  I voted for Marner as I think Arizona will go with Strome.

Lots of Marner fans I see and lots of fans of a potential lineup made up of tiny players. Brown, Liepicic, Nylander, Marner, Rupert bros., Carrick looks like the small shall inherit the NHL. :P

Individual preferences are irrelevant to the actual question that was posed, which is "Who will the Leafs choose?".

You don't think this poll was about who everyone thinks the Leafs should take? really?

I think it's kind of ironic that Marner was chosen as the should/will be taken on a poll initiated by Heroic Schrimp, no offense intended by the way.

1. If that was the intent of the poll, it would have been worded that way.

2. It wasn't initiated by HS.

3. Why on earth did you add a C to Shrimp?

I'm a poor speller so sue me.

Have you ever heard how Gardiner used to say how he loved being coached by RC just after he was benched, did you believe it or the best oxymoron I've ever heard how RC gave him lots of rope to wheel with the puck but only when safe to do so. I have a feeling you actually would take his words at face value.

I don't think, I know that every person who responded/voted to this poll was expressing their own personal opinion otherwise it would have been 100 % for Hanifin, no matter what the intention was of the poll, but you knew that, so what was your point or did you simply get out of the wrong side of the bed.

If you think about the way the responses are worded like "I don't care" that's not a proper response but if BPA was put in there and anybody voting for another choice would obviously be stating their preference rather than who TO should take so I would think this was obviously worded, but not by shrimp.

Another oxymoron is he's a good skater for a big man, good skaters don't need to be qualified so you're obviously a good to great skater or you're not.

Not quite 100%.... I would take Provorov over Hanifin. In fact I was surprised he was not included in the poll.

I don't think you know what an oxymoron is.

I'm open to your interpretation, why were/are you afraid to venture your opinion of what an oxymoron is?

An oxymoron is a contradiction inherent in it's terms. Not a redundancy or a logical fallacy. So if I were to say someone was a short tall person or a strong weakling, that would be an oxymoron.

And that's not my opinion, that's just what the word means.

So, basically, not only did most people give the clearly wrong answer to the question, but it was also the wrong question from the beginning, despite its clear phrasing, and everybody should clearly recognize it as such.

True story. About 20 some odd years ago I think the Star had a contest for readers to submit new and humorous oxymorons and, if memory serves, I think my Dad won third place with "press release".

So you don't think a good skater for his size is an oxy, I do. I'm pleased to see an actual response. Since the NHL is populated by players of all sizes skating is rated in that environment not in some bizzaro world populated by extremely large players, the qualification therefore makes the statement an oxy.
